Chapter ninety one
"It's all an awful reminder."
The next morning, Beatrix was sitting in the bar on campus, although every time she looked around her, she thought of her dead coven friends "hey." Stefan told her, and when he did, Beatrix looked to him "your supposed to be helping Elena study, remember?" Stefan asked her "sorry, I, um..it's just weird being back here after.." Beatrix shared, as realization his Stefan and Elena "oh, Beatrix, I'm..I'm sorry." Elena told her "no, no, like I told Stefan..what happened to them was my fault." Beatrix shared "no, it's not." Stefan told her.
"Hey. I'm sorry, I'm late. What did I miss?" Bonnie asked, as she sat down "that Stefan's the tutor from hell." Elena shared, as Beatrix smirked "I think I'm the one who's from hell." she shared, as Stefan raised his brows "cracking jokes now?" he asked her "well, coming from the girl who woke up on fire last night. There's not exactly time to pretend that things aren't coming to an end." Beatrix shared "especially since the other side is falling apart. At least your not in denial." Elena shared "I'm not in denial. The other side disintegrating. As the anchor to the other side, I'm only alive as long as there is an other side." Bonnie shared.
"Not true. But I'm not gonna get into the details." Beatrix shared, as she huffed "but you could always ask you new supposed witch bff for help." she shared, looking to Liv at the bar "she's not my new witch bff. She lied to me. Besides don't we have bigger problems with those travelers trying to take over mystic falls?" Bonnie asked "oh, no. Damon's already on that." Stefan shared, as Beatrix looked to him with furrowed brows "he is?" she asked "did I say Damon? What I meant to say was George." Stefan shared, as Beatrix stood up to leave, Stefan grabbed her hand, pulling her down.
Where soon, Bonnie was over by the bar trying to talk to Liv while Elena was drinking her coffee, Stefan leaned toward's Beatrix "last night when you were talking to Damon..you were saying goodbye." he whispered to her, as Beatrix looked at him "I really don't wanna talk about this with you Stefan." she whispered to him "please.." Stefan was telling her, as he noticed Enzo behind her "what are you doing here?" he asked "I can't join my friends for a cup of tea?" Enzo asked "Damon, your friend, uh, singular, isn't here. And we're busy right now." Stefan shared.
As Enzo sat down "but by all means, have a seat." Stefan told him "no need to be rude. I've come here for a chat. Beatrix, darling, perhaps you know of what I've been searching for. A woman I once knew, named Maggie." Enzo shared "I already told you without something of her's I can't help you find her." Beatrix shared "yes but I was thinking maybe if I gave you a glimpse into it something might come up. Like how Maggie worked there as an observer, taking notes on my behavior. She never got too close, never took off her vervain bracelet, but we spent hours and hours talking, and we developed an attachment. Now she left in 1950. I imagined her one day teaching at one of these fancy universities, starting a family, living her life to the fullest. I'm sure you three can appreciate that." Enzo shared.
"What's your point?" Beatrix asked, as Enzo reached into his jacket pulling out pictures "that traveler girl Sloan gave me this yesterday, making good on her promise." he shared "Sloan doesn't make good on anything. She tricks you and then people end up dead." Beatrix shared "speaking of dead." Enzo shared, tossing the photo to her, it was a picture of a women who could only be Maggie with her head no longer attached to her body with mystic falls, a case number and a date in the right bottom corner.
She didn't hand it to anyone "Beatrix?" Elena asked her, as Beatrix had a feeling she knew who did this "yes. Imagine how I felt when I saw it. Turns out Maggie died in 1960 in mystic falls. Someone tore her head right off her body." Enzo shared, as Elena looked to Stefan "in 1960, were you.." she asked "a ripper? Clearly. Which is why Beatrix won't show him the photo." Enzo shared "I wasn't a ripper then." Stefan shared, ripping the picture out of Beatrix's hand and throwing it on the table "I'm really sorry about your friend but I had nothing to do with it." he shared.
