A man scurries down the halls, his frame twitching in fear with every step. His eyes trembled in their sockets, globs of sweat dripping down the creases of his forehead. Every movement of his was the sign of a good week gone by, a looming dread hanging over him. A door was cracked open, light expanding as it pierced through the small chasm.

He bathed in the light, revealing that he had been the same man who had listened into Hex and Kasey's conversation the other day. Reaching tentatively towards the door, he hesitated for a moment, nay, a minute. He stood frozen for a minute until the door took action, opening all on its own. Woken from his terrified trance, the man flinched and scurried inside.

Bringing his knee to the ground, he met the bricks in a reverent embrace, bowing his head to his mistress.

???: Mistress, to what do I owe the honor of your presence?

The vampiress chuckled, a cold, yet pleasant melody which sent a chill through his being. She peered down from her regal throne, her legs crossed and a wine glass with contents that she lazily swirled. Rain fell from the man's face as sound escaped her lips, commandeering the air with her words.

Kasey: You may rise, Score.

Score stood up in a stiff, strained motion, as if he were a robot attempting to mimic human behavior.

Kasey: I require your services for this endeavor. You are to find and retrieve Y/N L/N.

His heart plummeted, dropped into a bottomless hole. Lips quivering, he had no choice but to sit and let this play out. A ghost of a smile sat on her face, betraying the stolid countenance she had thus far. Her pink orbs flickered with amusement, regarding her subordinate with mild intrigue.

Kasey: For this mission, I grant you authority to slay any who stand in your path, but you will present the target to me alive. Is that understood?

His lips were parsed as if to speak yet sound eluded him. Muscles failed him, going numb in his time of need. Yet, he powered through, mustering the strength and the resolve to answer his liege.

Score: Yes, mistress.

It came out strained, the tone of his voice perfectly matching the expression of his face as he stared at the ground, unable to bring himself to look at his mistress.

Kasey: Excellent. Run along now...I expect my guest to arrive by the moon's first ray.

She told him, her lips twisting into a not a smirk but a full-on smile. Score felt his entire skeleton shake as if someone had pulled on his internal fire alarm. His soul's windows covered themselves with the strongest tint known to man. Stiffly, he turned out of the room, swiftly scurrying away while Kasey continued to smile at him.

Her arm reached into the pocket of her jacket, retrieving a small stone. She tossed the object to the wayside, watching in amusement as it grew into a bat-shaped golem. The Rock Monster flapped in front of her, awaiting her first command.

Kasey: Follow him.

The creature nodded in response, flying away to complete its mission. Kasey brough brought the glass to her lips, her smile still present as the Rock Monster vanished from sight. On the precipice of taking a sip, her eyes bored down at it apathetically, her smile dissipating as the cool material touched her lip. She changed her mind at the last moment, bringing the glass back down to its resting position.

Her eyes briefly flicked down to her impassive reflection in the crimson fluid, watching as the liquid sloshed around the goblet. The pink orbs followed her face as it washed over the golden rim, its bearing unchanged as its owner gazed upon the ornate thing.
