Our story begins on a peaceful sunset. A bunny hops through the woods, snacking on a bush while crickets chirp in the distance. All is right with the world. That is, until a tremor hits the area, shaking all of the flora and fauna in the nearby surroundings. That isn't the only thing being affected by this earthquake. No, deep underground a large number of bio-technological growths can be seen hanging from the walls.

Inside of said cave, there is a cave that hangs from the top of the room. From that pod, a Highbreed exits, clearly annoyed with the sudden intrusion.

Elsewhere

Max Tennyson could be seen frying some squid patties, also in a forest. While he flipped one of the weirdly colored patties, he continued to tell a story from back during his Plumber days.

Max: I only had enough charge left for one ray blast, but I knew I was faster than the...

Kevin took out a cooler from the Rustbucket II and carried it over to the picnic table. There, Gwen could be seen pouring water into a cup.

Gwen: Having fun?

Kevin: Pros of camp-outs? Fresh air, barbecue burgers. Cons of camp-outs? Your Grandpa Max's old Plumber stories we've heard 10 times before.

Kevin walked over to the grill to go and talk to Max. While he made his way over, you and Jen smiled at the patties, happy with their progress.

Kevin: You said you were going to tell a story about my dad.

He said while reaching over to one of the finished patties. Max slapped his claw with a spatula, causing the mutant boy to recoil in slight pain. Kevin pulled his hand back, nursing his wrist with his Conductoid arm while Max lectured him.

Max: You know, a story's a lot like barbecue squid--can't rush either one.

He lifted one of them up with his spatula, causing Kevin to realize what had just come out of the elderly man's mouth. Max flipped the patty over, the sizzling indicating the start of Kevin's worries.

Kevin: Squid? I-I thought those were hamburgers.

Y/N: Hamburgers? Don't you see the suction cups?

Just then the ground started to rumble, shaking everything in the area. The two cups Gwen had been filling up earlier began to rock back and forth, almost about to fall. Luckily, said girl caught the two glasses in time, ending the clinking noise that they had been making.

Gwen: Whoa. You feel that? Earthquake.

Meanwhile

That Highbreed from earlier finally woke up, stepping out of his pod to then make a remark about his current situation.

Highbreed: Awake.

He ran across one of the tech tumors, using the fleshy cord as a bridge to the next area. A computer rose from its hidden position, giving the creature access to the main console.

Highbreed: Station log--my hibernation pod has opened, that means the unthinkable has occurred--the war is lost.

He typed a few buttons into the machine, causing the panel to slide open and reveal a handprint scanner.

Highbreed: I must complete my final mission.

Back With You

Max: Zap!

He exclaimed as he finished makine his squid burger.

Max: One shot took down the three of them.

A black claw clamped around the plate, careful not to apply enough pressure to break it. Kevin's arm pulled back, allowing its owner to consume his meal.
