10:00 PM, Bellwood Harbor
Flecks of silver glitter across the harbor's water, illuminating the steel of the docks. Mountains of shipping containers lie behind them, draped by the shadow of a crane. Light emerged from the windows of the harbor's storehouse, shining for all to see.
A boat sits in the harbor, weighed down by a multicolored mass of shipping containers and barrels. Waves lapping at its hull, the vessel remained at its station, lights off, devoid of soul. The tapping of the waves dominated the environment by default. That is, until a 'whoosh' briefly enters the scene.
Arriving in a blur of red and black, Hypersting enters the harbor. She descends a bit before slapping her chest, reverting to Jen Tennyson in a bright flash of green. Peeking her head from behind a shipping container, she scans to see if the coast is clear. Seeing no personnel, hearing no footsteps Jen leapt out and began searching the harbor.
Jen; Guess no one's working the night shift, lucky me.
As if mimicking its wielder, the Omnitrix's dial pokes out and emits a green light. Jen waves her hand, sweeping the light across the dark harbor.
Jen; All right. Not how I pictured my Friday evening. Then again, it's not like any of the past 9 months were like how I pictured high school.
Gripping the chain around the handles of a shipping container, Jen uses Spin to snap the links. She pulls the door open and gets into a fighting stance, only for the green light to reveal...furniture. Staring at the pile of chairs, she couldn't help but run a hand through her hair and sigh.
Jen; This is gonna be a long night.
Jen repeated the process with the next container, unsealing it only to find more disappointment inside.
Jen; I come in freshman year thinking, "This is gonna be so much fun. We're gonna party so hard, and we'll become prom royalty, and all that jazz". But no, those banana squid assholes had to come in and ruin everything.
Another container, another dead end.
Jen; Nearly kill Max, reawaken N/N's trauma which caused him to turn into this psycho killer that for some inexplicable reason I prefer to whatever the hell he's doing now. I could at least understand him then but now he's barely even opening up to me. Which sucks!
Kicking her way into another container, she glared at the sight of a metric ton of bananas before stomping off.
Jen; God I wish he would just talk about whatever's bothering him instead of being all, "I'm a hero, I need to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders. With great power comes great responsibility". We're a team! No, we're partners! We're supposed to watch each other's backs, and how am I supposed to do that when you won't let me in because you're too busy brooding?! Ugh! It's so infuriating!
Her expression hardens as she searches, something throbbing at her temple as she grabbed the next chain. Yanking the doors open, Jen's gaze softens as a grandfather clock stares out from the dark container, bathed in the emerald glow of the Omnitrix.
"He can't wait to see how much the Chronicle had grown"
Vilgax's words echoed in her mind on repeat, rebounding off the crevices of her skull. The pulsing returned, forcing a hand to her temple as she attempted to soothe the burn.
Jen; I should've told him. I should have told him. Ugh, why didn't I tell him? Wait...why didn't I tell him? He should know so he can prepare for when he shows up again. But...at the same time Y/N wouldn't be too thrilled about knowing that the guy who tortured him and stole his body is still kicking.
