Long Time (Lemon)

Fred is sitting at the same bar in the guest home yet again drinking some apple cider. The rest of his team has left him home for the day due to another negative morning. While Fred was fine with the judgement call, he wasn't fine with how his team reacted to it, mainly how sadden they were. He cared deeply for his team, but currently, he needed sometime for himself.

After turning on the TV, Fred just flipped through channels until he landed on some old cartoon show he used to watch as a kid. While cheesy, it was the good light hearted material Fred needed at the current moment. As he was watching, the doorbell rung unexpectedly. Fred switched the channel to the news for obvious reasons. He got up to answer the door which he assumed to be either some of the manor's staff or perhaps some random salesman.

Upon opening the door, Fred's eyes widen and he took a shocked reaction to what he saw. Taiyang Xiao Long, standing in the doorway.

Taiyang: Hey, Frederic.

Fred: Mr. Xiao Long, sir.

Fred stepped out of the way so the huntsman could enter. After entering, Fred escorted Taiyang to the kitchen.

Fred: Would you like something to drink?

Taiyang: Didn't know someone your age drunk that stuff.

Fred: No alcoholic drinks in the house, or so I've been told. We've got cider, if you want?

Taiyang: I'm fine, kiddo. Just here to talk.

Fred: About what, if I may ask?

Taiyang: About Yang.

Fred: What about her?

Taiyang: She's sorry. You know that?

Fred: She doesn't need to be.

Taiyang: Well she is.

Fred: What's your point?

Taiyang: My point? My point is you loved her-

Fred: Love! I love her! Not loved.

Taiyang: Ok. I get that. But why?

Fred: Huh?

Taiyang: Why do you love her? And do you truly do?

Fred: Of course I do. She's gotten me out of depression. Opened me up to the world. I mean, she's the whole reason why we are friends or even together in a relationship. I just...didn't want to hurt her. She means the world to me. Look I don't understand why she chose me over literally anyone else, but she did. So, if I don't do anything, I fail her. I know I haven't done anything really since Beacon's fall, but I don't want to reminder of Beacon, of that's night. And I know I'm doing more harm than good, I just, I don't know anymore, Tai.

Taiyang: That's not answering my question.

Fred: She's amazing! That's why. She's funny, a great warrior, intelligent, just...great.

Taiyang places his hand on Fred's shoulder and smiles at him.

Taiyang: That's all I needed to hear.

Taiyang begins to walk out of the house. Fred walks out from the bar to join him.

Taiyang: Stay here.

Fred does as he is told and stands by the bar. Taiyang leaves so Fred goes back around and pour more cider for himself. Walking back to the front door with the drink, he takes a swig. After his drink, he looks to the door and sees Yang standing there. Fred slowly places the drink down and both look at one another in the eyes.
