The Guardian and the Gladiator

Onyx is sent through another Atlas ship as Fred chases after him. Fred causes a small blast and destroys the rest of the ship and punches Onyx in the jaw and sends him into the crater underneath Atlas. Fred flies down and launches a massive beam of fire into the crater. However, Onyx leaps out of it and misses Fred barely. Fred flies down and kicks Onyx in the chest but Onyx grabs his leg and throws Fred down to the ground, causing a crater within a crater.

Onyx lands onto Fred's chest, making the Guardian cough up more blood. Onyx picks Fred up and punches him in the chest twice while holding him by the neck. Onyx then drops Fred and Onyx punches him in the stomach and launches Fred upward. Fred destroys a building and flies across Mantle, slowly rolling along the ground once he lands. Onyx lands in the same street as Fred slowly gets back to his feet. Fred spits out some bloody and raises his arms back to Onyx.

Fred: Is that all you got. My grandmother hits harder than you.

Onyx: And if I recollect...I cut out her eyes.

Fred: Yeah.

Fred forms fire like claws along his fingertips and glares back at Onyx.

Fred: And I'll rip out yours.

Fred yells and launches himself forward and slashes at Onyx's face. The hit forces Onyx back. Onyx turns back to Fred to see a massive scar along his left eye with some black blood slowly dripping out. Onyx yells and extends his wrist blade and attacks Fred again. Fred forms a massive wrist blade of his own and the two clash.

They exchange blows with their blades and continue to fight one another in the streets of Mantle. They throw jabs and slashes at one another until Fred flies up and unleashes a massive blast to Onyx's face. However, Onyx leaps through the fire and punches Fred in the face, sending him back down to the road. He lands on Fred again and punches him in the face until Fred catches a punch and heat visions Onyx's head, sending him backward.

Inside Amity Arena, a bullhead lands at the base and Leia with JNR and Oscar step out. The five glance around and slowly begin to walk inside the massive structure. After scoping the bit out, the five run inside and continue to look around. They finally get to the main control center and Leia gasps as she sees Ironwood imprisoned by Watts' rings. She quickly pushes past everyone and runs down. Jaune and Nora look at her and shrug until Ren stands at the observation window.

Ren: Guys.

They too gasp and run back to meet with Leia along the arena floor. Ironwood winces in pain as his arms and legs are burned more and more. Leia goes to the rings and pulls up a hologram with data on them. She begins to go through the files, trying to figure out how they work exactly. At this point, the rest of the team is all there and look to Leia as she tries to figure out the rings.

Nora: Well?

Leia: I'm trying. Just give me some time here.

Nora: We don't have time. The city is being invaded and-

The five hear Ironwood yell. They look back and see him pulling his flesh arm and leg out from the hard light burning them. Leia and June run over to him but Ironwood raises his hand to stop them. From his jacket, he takes out a knife and yells as he cuts his metallic wrist and severs his own hand and ankle. Ironwood falls to the ground as the rings close and lock into place. Jaune and Ren barely catch him as Oscar and Leia walk up to Ironwood's face.

Leia: General?

Oscar: James! (To Leia) Get him to the bullhead! He needs medical attention!

Leia: He'll be evacuated with the rest of the council. Winter is already heading up that front.
