It was just another boring day. Since the Summer holidays started you didn't know what to do with yourself, and so you ended up spending it doing nothing at all.

Sometimes you'd text your friends and hang out with them, but they were busy without something, so it was another day of lounging around at home.

You thought of last years summer and sighed to yourself. Was this going to just keep happening? Wasting summer, and then wishing for it to come again when you were busy with work?

You shook your head, and decided to do something.

Since your friends notified you that they were busy, you thought of the Matsuno's not far from your house. They had no jobs and were total NEETs, so they were probably free today, right?

You put on your shoes and your bag, then left your house. Walking down the street, you felt a slight breeze blow last you, a welcome addition to the heat.

Finally, you made it to their house. Just as you were about to lightly knock, the door slid open, and your eyes met half-lidded ones. They widened once they caught sight of you.

"Oh! Hey, Ichimatsu. Going out?" You asked.

He looked down, shuffling his feet. "...Yeah."

"Can I come?" You questioned, and his body grew rigid. Noticing his uncomfortable, you added, "It's okay if you'd rather I didn't."

There was silence, then you heard him mumble. After asking if he could repeat what he said, he looked annoyed.

"I said, alright." He huffed, brushing past you.

You cheered, making him roll his eyes.

After you both left the area their house was, the conversation went to halt, and you were left awkwardly walking in time with him. It wasn't like you weren't expecting this though, you knew Ichimatsu wasn't too much to a talker, but he did say you could come with him! If he didn't want you to come, he would have made that clear.

You cleared your throat, breaking the silence. "So, what's your plan?"

He looked at you, raising an eyebrow although you couldn't see it from his thick fringe going past them.

"What are your plans for today, I mean." You said, and he shrugged.

"Feed the cats, what else?" He murmured. You smiled at him.

"Oh, nice! I wonder if there's any news ones..." You thought aloud, not noticing his eyes on you.

Feeling his face go warm, he lifted his mask over his mouth.

After strolling through town with mostly you talking, you made it to one of the alleyways, out of sight of the passing people. Without hesitating, Ichimatsu got onto his knees and fished a bag of dried sardines out of his pocket. Within a minute around five cats gathered around Ichimatsu, looking up at him expectantly.

You got closer and kneeled down, quietly so you wouldn't scare his furry friends away. With a gentle hand, he brought out a couple of the sardines and fed them to the cats, them happily munching on them.

You were so entranced with the adorableness of the cats, you didn't notice Ichimatsu holding out the bag. He nudged you.

"Hm?" You looked over and saw the bag, the sour smell of dried sardines making you want to peg your nose.

You saw he was gesturing for you to pick some out, and you stayed still. He looked at you, confused, and you explained.

"I don't know... They're kind of..." You said, trying to breathe through your mouth instead of your nose.
