A school's classroom was created for two reasons; for it to be a room for people to teach and for people to learn. Charlie knew this, and yet he couldn't help but stare at a certain girl seated not far from him. For him, much was still unknown about her, except her name, but just from seeing her interact with the others in class as well as silently work, he found himself enamoured with no other choice than accept it.

Even if he somehow worked up the courage to go talk to her during lunch, she seemingly disappeared, and he'd never see her hang around after school either. A sigh escaped him. With his luck, Y/n was probably with someone already. Why wouldn't she be?

Although there was no evidence to support his assumption, he believed it to be true anyway. It's not like he'd ever actually have the chance to talk to her... Still, he couldn't help but let his eyes wander back to her in the classroom, despite telling himself not to. Whenever she turned her head slightly, he pushed up his glasses in a panic to appear normal.

... It had the opposite effect, but it's fine. Y/n didn't notice.

By some miracle he was able to actually pay attention during the remainder of class, taking down notes to revise later. He made it a habit to do so whenever he could, as it wasn't always easy to find quiet time in his life. Charlie expected to be troubled by his noise brothers eventually, but the thought that'd it at least happen when he got home have him the smallest of comforts.

Today didn't seem to be working out, as his older brother waltzed into the sparse classroom.

"Hey!" Orson greeted casually.

Charlie glanced up at him, unimpressed. His frown deepened when he saw the amount of books that were being carried. "What?"

The red slacker laughed cheerfully. "Well, you know how I was so sure I didn't have homework, but turns out I did. Haha, well ya see-"

"I did tell you." Charlie cut him off bluntly, crossing his arms.

"Aww, come on, do me this one favour! I'll pay you back!" Quickly he resorted to beginning instead of his usual aloof approach. Charlie sighed.

"You still owe me for last time..." The bespectacled boy brought up, seeing the way his older brother winced. "... Fine though. JUST THIS ONCE."

Orson snapped his fingers. "Nice, thanks bro! I was actually gonna ask Karla but he's looking at records for probably the fiftieth time this week, so."

The third eldest held in a groan at the tall workload now on his desk. Why did he agree to this again? Before he had any chance of backing it of this decision, Orson grinned at him and made his leave.

Another sigh left Charlie mouth. It's going to be a while before he goes home.

Fingers aching and brain sufficiently fried, Charlie shut the book closed with a satisfactory slam. The library he had taken shelter in for hopes of studying at had been emptied after hours of his entrance.

He glanced at the ticking clock on the wall. He really had been here for ages... Judging from the inside of the library, it seemed like everyone had went home already.

'I guess I should get going too... ' Charlie thought sourly. Looks like he had no free time today. He was already exhausted.

Making his way down the stairwell and into the sparse corridors, he met with a depressing sight. From outside the clear windows he could see buckets of rain, battering against the pavement so hard it looked almost painful. A frown formed on his face without much coercion.
