Today was the day, the day where Hiccup and Hope had to leave for Chief Training. Now in some eyes, it was a good thing that they were going, I mean, Stoick had planned for Hiccup to go to this back when he was about 17-18 years old. But now that Hope is in the picture, she wanted to tag along, both since she is Chief as well, and for Astrid, just so she knows that he would be safe. And now here we are.
"Are you sure about this Hiccup? I mean, you don't have to do this." Astrid asked, holding their 6 month old son, Stoick
"Well, no, but dad had this planned out for me since I was like 17, when we were on the Edge. So I kinda have to." Hiccup said, finishing packing his bags
"Well, I just want you to know that I love you, and Stoick loves you too." Astrid said walking over to him
"And I love both of you so much, I'll see you guys in 2 weeks" Hiccup said before taking Stoick in a hug, handing him back, then giving her a kiss "See you soon"
"Bye Hiccup"
And with that he went to go get Hope, as well as saying bye to Toothless
"You sure you wanna go with him Hope? Because you don't have to." Eret asked her, while finishing packing her bags
"Yes, I'm sure, I'm going for Hiccup and for the good of the village." Hope said putting their 6 month old daughter Erika to sleep
"Well, I'm trusting your judgement, but if anything happens to you while your gone, I would only blame myself." He said, handing Hope her bag
"Nothing will happen to me, so don't blame yourself Eret, please, because you now need to watch Erika for me while I'm gone"
"Of course Hope, I love you"
"And I love you too" and with a kiss, she was off
Hiccup and Hope met up right before the docks to say goodbye to Toothless and Treasure
"Okay bud, I need you to watch Astrid and Stoick for me while I'm gone, okay?" Hiccup asked, looking at him, followed by Toothless licking him on the face "Oh God's, you know that doesn't wash out!" Hiccup said getting up in fits of laughter
"Alright Treasure, I need you to watch Eret and Erika for me, and I'll see you soon" Hope said hugging her one last time
"You two ready?" Valka asked walking up to them
"Yeah, I think so, I'm going to miss you mom" Hiccup said
"I'm alright, I'm gonna miss you to" Hope added
"I'm going to miss both of you" Valka said hugging them both "Stay safe"
"We will, promise" Hiccup said grabbing his bag
"Lets go" Hope said walking towards the boat
And with that, they were off to training
Later that day
"Hey Hiccup?" Hope asked concerned
"Hmm?" Hiccup replied while looking over his shoulder
"Come look at this"
"What?"
"We're here"
They then docked, got their bags and met with the Chief of the island
"Well, if it isn't the chiefs of Berk, Hiccup and Hope Haddock" Chief Harold said, helping them out
"It's an honor to meet you Harold" Hiccup said, shaking his hand
"Honor to meet you as well"
"Harold, what an honor" Hope said
"As to you"
"You must be the chiefs of Berk, I am Dahlia, Harold's Daughter"
"Hello Dahlia, I'm Hiccup"
"And I'm Hope"
"Well it's wonderful to meet you both"
"So, you knew our father?"
"Of course I did, he was a great man, and I'm sorry about what happened" Harold said
"Yeah, he was, and thanks" Hiccup sighed
"Well, if you wouldn't mind, I will take your bags to you hut while my dad gives you a tour, see you guys later" Dahlia said, before taking their bags and heading off
"Now, right this way you two" Harold said patting Hiccup on the shoulder
One hour later
"Wow, this place is amazing" Hope said looking around in awe
"And that's it, so, it's getting late so why not you guys head over to the hall for dinner?" Harold asked, pointing to the hall on the hillside
"That's sounds like a good idea, let's go Hope" Hiccup said, heading towards the hill
"Coming"
After dinner
"Wow, who knew that an island that is so remote could be so beautiful" Hope said, unpacking her things
"Yeah, I wonder how long Harold knew dad" Hiccup sighed
"And speaking of Harold, his daughter, Dahlia, I think she likes you Hiccup"
"What, how do you know that?"
"Just the way she looked at you when we first got here, then when talking to you, and then I heard her giggling once she grabbed our bags and headed off"
"Oh God's, I've just got here and someone is already trying to get with me" Hiccup sighed, sitting down and putting his head in his hands
"I'm sorry, but I know we should do something to send her the message that you are married and have a kid"
"Yeah, but I don't want it to be direct, it should be sublet"
"Wait! She probably didn't see you ring! That's why!"
"Yeah, yeah, your right! Okay so once we start training tomorrow, I can talk to her and show her mine and say that you have one too"
"Okay, sounds good, well, goodnight Hope"
"Goodnight Hiccup"
And with that, they were off to bed, recharging for tomorrow
