The Tragedy of Mary Jane Stark

"Yeah..." Mj said slowly. "You were at my door yesterday. Oh god, how long have you been stalking me! You're a creep!" Mj stormed away.

"No no no Mj please please listen to me." Peter ran up to catch her.

"Your actually insane. The worlds gonna reset  in a day? That's crazy you're crazy. I can't believe I kissed you!" Mj shouted.

"Mj!" Peter called out.

"Leave me alone! Leave me alone Spider-Man. Or... or." Mj was fuming, trying to come up with a threat.

"What; tell people who I am? Nobody knows Peter Parker remember. It will do nothing." Peter scoffed.

"Whatever. Goodbye Peter Parker." Mj groaned and walked down the street. It started to rain down on them as Mj started her walk to her apartment.

"At least let me walk you home!" Peter ran after her. Yes- Mary Jane wouldn't remember any of this in two days; but he still hated she's upset. He hated that she was with Harry. Even for two days he didn't want her to be unhappy.

But.. she got hurt. She got hurt the moment Spider-Man entered her life again. She looked healthy, well rested, unscathed. All the scars on her face were gone. She looked so healthy. Except for the cut on her chin. A cut Spider-Man caused.

"I can walk myself home! I don't know if I was your little damsel in distress in your little fantasy were we are engaged and we've known each other since middle school. But this Mary Jane likes to do things herself!" Mj huffed.

"You're  not a damsel! You get mad at me when I take extra precautions with you. We fight every time I try to help you with things you can do yourself. I know that, every time you do get taken you make it living hell for the person who took you. You're  just like your father! You make snide sarcastic comments to annoy the shit out of them." Peter yelled.

"You think I'm like my dad?" Mj turned around. That caught her attention

"Yes. Your snarky and smart and beyond kind. Just like him. You know what your father said to me, in the correct time line, were you and him knew me. He never wanted you to ever date. He was afraid someone would date you for your fame or money. But he told me I was the one for you. I fell for you before I knew you were a stark. You fell for me before you knew I was Spider-Man. We are soulmates Mary Jane. Even your dad agreed with it." Peter pleaded.

Mj looked like was shocked for a moment there. Than shook her head no.

"Well dads dead so. It doesn't matter." Mj sighed.

"It does matter! You loved your dad more than anyone. In the real time line you were beyond consolable for weeks after he died!" Peter thought it best to leave out the Maple Twine Park incident. 

"Harry was there for me when dad died. We blipped together on a date. My school was going on a field trip so I skipped and he skipped so we could spend the day together. He was there when we blipped back. There when I saw on the news of dad's death. Harry was always there for me." Mj explained.

"That's why you love him? Mary Jane I was there for you." He thought he'd give it one more shot. "This time line is only going to exist for one more full day, but I can't see you be so unhappy for that long. I just can't. I made it my goal in life to keep you happy for as long as I live. That goes the same for this timeline too. I'll do anything to make you happy, and Harry doesn't make you happy." Peter begged.

"What so you think your gonna solve my problems. I'm just gonna break off my engagement with Harry and instantly be full of relief. That's not how that works. Without Harry I'd be so alone. Without Harry I would have nothing." Mj said sternly.
