I finished putting my tie on. I think I look okay. I'm not sure how to feel about all this though. There was a knock on the door.
"Everything okay" asked Loki.
"Ya" I said.
I went and opened the door. Loki took a second to look at me.
"What" I asked nervously.
"Nothing, you just look great" said Loki.
I smiled and left my room. Loki and I decided to go to a party that the coven is throwing. I have never been to a party before. Living with the Lemke's I'm allowed to go to them but like other Unmage they hate witches.
"Is there going to be food at this party? I've never been to one before" I said.
"Yes, not meal food more snacks. But still food" said Loki.
"Okay" I said.
I'm nervous. Loki put a witch hat and a cape on me.
"We don't have to stay the whole night if you don't want to" said Loki.
I nodded and we put our shoes on. Once we were ready Loki and I finally left to go to the party. The witches are always on the run from the unmage. So we live in tents and campers. The town looks more like a campsite. I guess it helps when you have to run for your life or you get killed. Right now we are in the middle of the woods.
It's not what I'm use to but it keeps the witches safe. For me, I'm not sure where I belong. I looked up at the sky as we walked. The night sky was clear with stars and a full moon. I know the moon is for protection or something. I'm not sure. I know nothing about witch craft. Except what the Christians preach of course. That witches go straight to hell.
I heard music playing and held Loki's hand. This is new for me. We made it to a old park. There was a playground with a stage. Lights were hung up along with candles and jack o lanterns. Fake ones not the real pumpkin. The candles are real but not the pumpkin. I was surprised which happens a lot.
There was witches hanging out at the party. There was dancing, drinks, games, probably some form of witch craft off in the distance. I noticed that there was jars of water on a picnic table. I walked over to get a closer look. I won't touch it. I don't want to disturb, what ever that is. Loki followed me to the table. There was a sign that said Moon water station.
"What the hell is moon water" I asked.
"It's water charged with the moon light. It's used a lot for protection" said Loki.
"Oh, cool" I said.
I walked over to the swings and sat down on one. Loki joined me and sat on the one on my right.
"Is the music too loud" asked Loki.
"No, it's fine" I said.
I watched everyone else enjoy the party. I feel like a outsider. Like I don't belong here. I watched as witches talked and danced. There was some lighting candles and doing card games. I can also see the moon shining down at us.
"How long are you staying here" I asked.
"I'm not sure. Maybe another day or two. It mostly depends on when everyone is ready and How safe we actually are here" said Loki.
"It must be hard. Moving from place to place all the time" I said.
"Ya, but it keeps us safe" said Loki.
We were silent for a minute and listen to the music.
"Do you want to dance" asked Loki.
"I don't know how" I said.
"I can teach you" said Loki.
I thought about it. It's just one dance.
"Just one" I said.
Loki smiled and stood up. he held out his hand. I took it and stood up. Loki and I walked to the stage as a slow song played. Loki climbed up on stage and got on his knees. Loki held out his hand for me again. I took it and Loki helped me climb up on the stage.
