I wake up the next morning and walk downstairs.
"Good morning Mrs. Ackerman." Marcel greets.
"Good morning Marcel. Have you seen Levi?" I ask.
"In the dining room."
"Thanks. Now how about that vacation?"
"Vacation?"
"Yes the one I've been trying to get you to be on for years." I press.
Marcel lets out a sigh.
"Based off the last invasion, I am impressed with my team. So I'll be taking my two week leave, if I may."
"No. You're not taking two weeks off."
"Pardon?"
"You're taking a month off."
Marcel smiles wide. I hug him tightly then take off.
"Levi!!" I scream, running into the dining room.
"What? What is it? Something wrong with the baby?"
Levi catch me.
"No no! I finally got Marcel to take a one month vacation!!"
I bounce up and down happily.
"That's great! What made him change his mind?"
Levi stops me from bouncing.
"Careful baby I don't want you to hurt yourself."
"He said he's impressed his team and trust them enough. He's taking a month off."
I bounce on my toes not jumping.
"When is he leaving?" Levi ask.
"I'm not sure. I'll see if he wants to leave today."
"Hi mommy!!"
"Hi babies!"
I walk over and hug my daughters. I kiss their cheeks.
"Good morning pumpkin." I hear.
"Kenny!!"
I rush over and hug him.
"What're you doing here??" I ask.
"We came over last night to report that it's been taken care of."
"You mean?"
Kenny nods.
"That Springer took him out. Well he took them both out."
"Wait who is Springer?" I ask.
"Maria can you take the girls? They shouldn't hear this." Levi asks.
"Sure thing Mrs. Ackerman."
"Levi didn't tell you? A kid name Connie came to us and gave us all the information about horse face. He wanted that monster to be stopped. Horse face killed Springer's family. He gave us a blueprint of the house. It turns out, he had a bomb on him and blew up the house with him in it."
I was silent.
"He lost his will to live."
I lowly say while looking down. I try not to cry but my hormones fail me.
"It's okay Princess."
Kenny hugs me.
"I wish I met him. And got a chance to tell him that he would find love again."
