First Day in Red

Blair's POV

"I cannot believe I fucking did this..." I looked at the red badge on my practice shirt. I was happy with my choice, but I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that it all actually happened.

"Me neither."

"Didn't realize you were in here." I looked in the reflection of the mirror as the Swiss captain smiled at me.

"Ready to go?"

"I suppose. Obviously Kelly plans on making a dramatic entrance with me. Still crazy that we've managed to keep this a secret from the media and the team especially Leah." I shook my head as Lia wrapped an arm around my waist from behind.

"I couldn't do this without you either."

"You're a strong girl Blair."

"Hmm maybe."

"Come on we need to go."

I followed Lia out to my car that I made her drive. Of course it made her nervous. Lia is a very simple girl...I could never. I felt like a G63 was more humble than the Urus atleast.

"Hmm I could get used to this."

"Oh could you now?" I giggled as she pulled out to the stadium.

"Nervous at all?"

"Excited...truly. I know its hard on Blake, Aitana, and Ona, but I'm happy."

"What happened between you and the Barcelona coach?" Lia looked over at me curiously.

"He was going to keep me as a glorified benchwarmer...told me I'd never be back."

"Proved him wrong."

"Not yet."

I shook my head as I responded. I feel like I have to win it all, then he'll realize that he's wrong. He'll realize that I am Blair Laid still...everyone will.

Then I'm done.

"Don't let your mind go too crazy alright."

"I think I'll be okay."

"If not..."

"You will be the first to know."

"Good...we're here. I'll drop you off in more private spot near the coach's office so you can sneak in." Lia laughed and I did exactly that. I smiled at the name outside of the head coach office. Yet another thing I technically made happen.

Kelly Smith, Head Coach

I was excited to play under her. There has never been a coach to ever top the bond between Ellis and me, but I think I may have a strong connection with Kelly.

"Ready for today?"

"Not sure. How do you think the girls will feel? I know that some of them will be upset to have lost some of the others."

"Tell me about it. I'm supposed to replace Kim little." I laughed as I walked over to give Coach Smith a hug.

"It's going to be a pleasure to work with you Laid. I know this wasn't an easy move for you by any means."

"Makes Champions League seem like a walk in the park. This will be an interesting season to say the least."

"Hard to be away from your sister?"

"I've never not had her by my side...I'm not sure if I'm more worried about myself or her."

"Its a new test, but everyone knows that you love a challenge. Put yourself in my seat right now. Who are you placing in that lineup?"
