Little Knight

prompt: you are 8 years old and Autumns daughter 

You wake up feeling scared from the nightmare that had just plagued you before you woke up, you slowly climbed out your bed and tiptoed to where you knew your mummy was sleeping, the darkness of the hallway made you more scared and you quickly head for your mummy's door and slowly opened the door and saw your mummy was asleep in her bed "mummy" you whisper whilst walking over to her "mummy" you say again louder and you see her stir slightly and you slowly climb up on the bed and shake her awake "mummy wake up" you say and see her wake up slowly "what's wrong sweetie" your mummy whispers to you and puts you on her lap as she sits up "I had a nightmare" you say putting your head on her chest and cuddle closer to her trying to not remember the nightmare that you just had "sweetheart, can you tell mummy what it was about" your mummy asks you and you just cuddle closer to her and shake your head and cling to her top "it will make you feel better sweetie" she tried again to make you speak about your nightmare "no mummy" you say and just hid your face in her chest and you hear your mummy sigh and just rubs your back and helps you slowly fall asleep.

Autumn was sat at her desk she was completely exhausted for the last week you have woken up every night with a nightmare but she was more concerned that you wasn't talking about it, she looked up when she saw Marjorie walk in who was followed by her older brother Reece she sat back in her chair and just watched the pair interact not really in the mood to interact with anyone, Autumn closed her eyes and lent her head back on her chair trying to figure out what was causing you to have these nightmares "you okay Aut" she hears Reece ask her and she opens her eyes to see Reece looking at her "yes just tired" she says before hearing her phone ringing and grabbed it off her desk "hello" she says before sitting up straight when she hears "is this Miss Knight" come down the phone "yes it is" she says to the person "hi, its Mrs Nelson your daughters teacher" she heard and was instantly more awake when she recognised who it was on the phone "is everything okay" Autumn asked before looking at Reece who was watching her "we was wondering if everything was okay at home, only because Y/N seems to be very quiet and not her usual self, she has been very upset and we think it might be best if you came and picked her up" Autumn heard the teacher say and she quickly packed up her belongings and left the office without saying a word to Reece or Marjorie "she hasn't been sleeping all week, she keeps waking up in the night but won't talk about why, I will be right there to pick her up" Autumn explains down the phone and quickly jumps into her car and hangs up the phone after thanking the teacher and set off to the school that you attend.

You was sat outside the office with your bag after being sent there by your teacher who explained that your mummy was coming to pick you up, you was confused on why you was being sent to the office but the teacher quickly explained that you wasn't in trouble but they were concerned about you since they had noticed that you was more quiet and not your usual self, looking up you see your mummy walking towards you "sweetie come on let's get go" she says to you whilst grabbing your school bag off the chair, you slide of the chair and grab hold of your mummy's hand and walk out the school building and out to where your mummy had parked her car. You was helped into the backseat and into your booster seat by your mummy and she fastened you into the car, you saw your mummy get into the front of the car and turn to you "sweetie, mummy has to go back to work so you have to come with me okay, but when we get to mummy's work we are having a little talk" she says to you and you nod your head at her.

Autumn drove from the school and looked back and saw that you have fell asleep, she hoped that with a bit of rest than you would talk to her, she quickly pulled back into the nursery and got out the car and walked round and opened your door and moved to unfasten the seatbelt and picked you up out the car whispering to keep you asleep when she felt you stir slightly in her arms and she walked into the building and headed to the office and entered the room to see Marjorie sat at her desk typing away, she walked over to her desk and sat down in the chair behind it and made sure you were comfortable in her lap and was still asleep "uhh, Aut who is this" she heard Marjorie ask her and she turned slightly in her chair "sshh, I will explain later" she whispered to her friend and rubbed your back when you stirred once again at the noises and looked over and saw Marjorie go back to her work and Autumn turned to her own computer and worked whilst you slept on her lap, she smiled slightly when she looks down and she remembers sitting like this with you when you was just a baby, she leant down slightly to kiss your forehead and went back to her work ignoring the shocked looks coming from Marjorie. Autumn had been working for around 30 minutes when she felt you shift on her lap and she automatically went to rub your back thinking you was slowly waking up but looked down quickly when she heard a small whimper come from you and she brought you closer to her when she realised you was having another nightmare "sweetie" she whispered hoping to wake you up before the nightmare could get worse "baby wake up, come on" she says again rubbing your back and moving you slightly when that didn't work "Marjorie can you shut door please" she asks the woman in the office who quickly did as she asked, Autumn knew from the past week that you have been waking up screaming for her after a nightmare so wanted to make sure that if happened here nobody would be able to fully hear it, Autumn turned her attention back to you when she felt you moving more and she stood up and hoped that by her moving would be enough to make you wake up slightly but as she moved she had to cover her ears when she heard "NOOOOOOO" being screamed coming from you and she saw you wake up in tears "shh baby you're okay, I've got you" she whispered to you hoping it would calm you down since you was sobbing in to her chest.
