First Heartbreak

Prompt: the first man to break your heart isn't who you thought would cause it

You walked into the nursey that your dad worked at since it was closer to your university than your mum's nursery since they both worked at different nursery buildings, walking down the corridor of the nursery you could hear laughter coming from the different rooms whilst walking and you soon came to the outside of the office your dad worked in but didn't enter since you could hear your dad talking before hearing a female voice speak "Reece, I'm so glad I have you in my life it's like I have 2 dads in my life" you heard the female voice say and you waited to see what your dad would say to the female "Carly I find that really sweet and your like a daughter I never had and I love that you can come to me for anything" you heard your dad say which made tears develop in your eyes since it seemed like you had been replaced by Carly in your dad's life, you had noticed that over the last few months that your dad didn't spend anytime with you anymore and would always talk about Carly or would tell you that he couldn't do something since he was helping Carly everytime you had a plan he always cancelled it and then you would find out he was doing what he planned with you to do with Carly instead, without hearing anything else you quickly rushed away from the office with tears streaming down your face and rushed out the building to head to your mum's building instead. Rushing to your mum's nursery you quickly rushed into the building before running down the corridor to where you knew your mum's office was in the building and ignored the looks you were getting from people who were in the corridor, crashing into the office you were out of breath from running all the way to the nursery whilst crying before hearing "baby girl, what's wrong" come from your mum but you felt that you couldn't speak and felt your breath get caught in your throat "I....I..I" you get out before feeling arms wrap around you and felt the arms pull you against a chest and you recognised the person as your mum since you smelt her perfume "lets calm down baby girl, follow my breathing" you heard your mum whisper in your ear before feeling her rub your back gently and you just sob into her chest whilst cling to her top tightly "let's sit down" you heard your mum say and felt her pick you up in her arms which made you cling to her tightly "do..don't g..go" you say through sobs "I'm not baby girl, I'm just sitting on the couch" you heard her say before feeling her place you on her lap and felt your body slowly start being rocked before hearing "Baby mine, don't you cry Baby mine, dry your eyes Rest your head close to my heart Never to part, baby of mine Little one when you play Don't you mind what you say Let those eyes sparkle and shine Never a tear, baby of mine" being sung softly by your mum which you felt yourself calm down when you heard the song she has sung to you since you were little and slowly stopped sobbing so you were just sniffling before reaching up to wipe your eyes free from tears that were still falling down your cheeks.

Marjorie was in her office with Autumn doing paperwork when she heard rushed footsteps coming down the corridor before seeing the office door crash open and quickly stood up with Autumn when she recognised the person who crashed the door open as her daughter and she quickly shared a glance with Autumn before rushing over to her daughter who she noticed was sobbing her heart out "baby girl, what's wrong" she asked her daughter whilst she saw Autumn go and close the door so nobody could see anything if they walked past but she put her focus back on her daughter when she heard "I...I...I" come from her sobbing daughter and she gently wrapped her arms around her daughter gently before whispering "lets calm down baby girl, follow my breathing" into her daughter's ear and started to rub her back before hearing her daughter start to sob into her chest even more and felt her grip the shirt she was wearing tighter "let's sit down" she says before picking up her daughter and felt her heartbreak when she heard "do..don't g..go" being sobbed out by her daughter and she brought her daughter closer to her chest as she picked her up since she felt the girl cling to her tighter "I'm not baby girl, I'm just sitting on the couch" she whispered before moving to sit down on the couch and she placed her daughter on her lap and started to rock her daughter before starting to sing "Baby mine, don't you cry Baby mine, dry your eyes Rest your head close to my heart Never to part, baby of mine Little one when you play Don't you mind what you say Let those eyes sparkle and shine Never a tear, baby of mine" to her daughter since she knew it would calm her daughter down since it has done since she was little due to her signing this lullaby from the very beginning of her pregnancy and carried on singing it to her daughter as she grew up. After a few minutes Marjorie felt you calm down and heard the sobbing stop before hearing sniffles come from you instead which she was relieved about but she was concerned about what had caused you to be a sobbing mess in the first place and she saw you reach up to wipe your cheeks free from tears that she could still see falling down your cheeks "baby girl, can you tell me what had you so upset" she asked softly and looked up to see Autumn moving the chair she was sat on closer to where she was sat with you on the couch "dad told Carly she was like a daughter he never had, he didn't know I was there since I was outside the office since I had just arrived at his office" she heard you mumble before hearing you start to cry again and she felt herself stiffen at hearing what her husband had said "ohh baby girl, I bet that hurt so much and I will be having words with him and Carly since she now over stepping, I love you so much baby girl and I will do anything to keep you from getting hurt by anyone even your own father" she whispered trying to keep the anger at bay and she looked over at Autumn who she saw was sat in the chair looking shocked at what you had just said "I..I..I can't believe he replaced me" she heard you mumble into her chest and she let out a sigh since she knew what you were probably feeling is from the last few months since she has been comforting you every time that Reece has cancelled the plans he had arranged with you to only find out he had done them plans with Carly from the apprentice herself and Marjorie had now reached her boiling point with the situation and was ready to tell her husband a few truths "lets go home, aunt Autie can handle everything here whilst I take you home" she says to you whilst looking over at Autumn who she saw nod at her "don't leave me like he has" she heard you whisper and she just pulled you closer to her "I'm not we are going home and just having a girl evening" she says before standing up with you in her arms still and took her bag from Autumn who had packed it for her "I'll ring you later to see how my little cub is if that's alright" she heard Autumn whisper and she nodded before placing a kiss on your forehead when she felt you cuddle closer to her "that's fine, lets hope you have a brother after I've tore into him" she says before leaving the office and building to take you home.
