Ornaments

Prompt: you and your husband decorate for Christmas and you get a surprise ornament from your husband 

DAY 5 of the Christmas one shot marathon 

You walked into the house you shared with your husband and was met with loud thuds coming from above you and made your way up the stairs to see the attic open and your husband coming down the ladders with boxes in his hand "love, what are you doing" you asked him and saw his head pop over the box and saw him place the boxes down that where in his hand before seeing him smile at you "my darling, I was getting the Christmas decorations down for you since you can't get them down yourself this year and was hoping we could put the tree up" you heard him say to you and noticed the excitement in his voice "sure love we can put the tree up today, are you okay carrying these down yourself or do you need help" you ask him knowing he wouldn't let you carry anything "I've got it, this is all of it and you go downstairs and sit down" you hear him say and you nodded at him before walking down the stairs and headed for the living room and spotted 2 boxes in there already and you walked over to them and opened both lids to see Christmas decorations in them both and it was all your shelf ornaments and you sat down in front of the boxes and started to sort through them whilst waiting for Winter to come in with the other boxes that he had gotten from the attic. You had slowly started to put your normal décor away and replaced it with your Christmas décor and saw Winter come in with the last box which you knew was your Christmas tree and you stopped putting out the rest of the shelf ornaments and moved over to help Winter open the box "let start shall we darling" you heard Winter say to you with exactment and you nodded your head before putting Christmas music on in the background and tried to help Winter put the Christmas tree up but just sat on the couch whilst Winter did the heavy lifting before seeing the tree fully up "love, you have to let me help you know" you say to him after standing up and you saw him look at you with a frown "no you are growing our daughter in there and need to be resting and not lifting, you can decorate it" you hear him say and saw him point to your round stomach and you placed your hands on your 20 week bump "yes love I know I'm growing our little girl but I don't want you to hurt yourself" you say to him and stand up from the couch and started to open the few boxes of Christmas decorations before finding the Christmas lights and sighed when you saw they were tangled before hearing "whilst I put away all our normal décor you can untangle the lights and then we can decorate it together" come from Winter and you knew he was only doing this because he didn't want you to over do it but you listened to him and sat on the couch to start untangling the lights.

It took you 20 minutes to untangle the Christmas lights and in that time Winter had put away the non Christmas décor so you could put the Christmas ornaments out and from where you were sat you told him where certain ornaments were going and slowly you had gotten them untangled "ah ha done them" you say with excitement in your voice and saw Winter turn to face you "let me put them on the tree" you hear Winter say and you gave him one end of the lights and as he put them on the tree you made sure they didn't tangle up again and slowly the tree was covered in little lights and you gave Winter the plug before hearing him groan "what's wrong love" you ask him and saw him hold the plug up "I have to crawl under the tree to plug it in" you hear him say and you chuckle at him before seeing him get on the floor and shuffle under the tree before hearing a soft click and saw the lights come on before seeing him climb out from under the tree and stand back up from the floor. Slowly together you got the Christmas decorations up and the tree was soon decorated as well and you stood there in the living room and looked at the twinkling lights on the tree before seeing Winter walk into the room with a small box in his hand and saw him pull you to the couch "here darling" you hear him say and saw him place the box in your lap and you looked at it before looking at Winter "love, what is it" you ask him and heard him chuckle before hearing "open it my darling then you will find out" you hear him say and you slowly nod before opening the box and chuckled when you were met with another box and opened that box to see tissue paper but what got your attention was the round ball in the centre of the box and you slowly pulled out the ball to see it was a bauble, looking at the bauble you saw it had a picture inside the clear bauble and gasped when you saw it was a small picture of your 20 week ultrasound and felt tears form in your eyes before noticing the writing on the opposite side of the picture and saw it had 'Baby Girl Fortune 1st Christmas' written in a dark pink colour and you let the tears fall and placed the bauble in the box and moved the box to one side before pulling Winter to you by his shirt and gave him a bruising kiss on the lips before pulling away "love, I love this so much" you whisper to him and reach for the bauble again to look at it again before standing up and pulled Winter up with you "lets place this on the tree" you say to him and slowly walked over to where the Christmas tree was and tried to find a good place for the bauble on the tree.
