Looking around the classroom trying to stay awake however you felt like you were slowly losing the battle of staying awake, you haven't been sleeping properly at night and it was starting to take a toll and you felt yourself slowly breaking, hearing the bell you sluggishly stood up and left the classroom before leaving the school building and headed to meet your mum at her work which you found strange since you knew nobody at your mum's work knew she had a child. Walking the 10 mints to the nursery where your mum worked had drained you even more than you thought was possible, you messaged your mum that you were outside and waited for her leaning against the wall near the gate closing your eyes whilst waiting. When hearing the gate being opened you opened your eyes and stood up and saw your mum opening it for you "hey sweetheart, have a good day" your mum asked you and moved to the side to let you through, walking past her you just nodded your head not really saying much to her, you heard your mum sigh at your response and moved to lead you into the building and down to her office and you followed behind silently just looking around the corridors since you have never been there before, your mum guided you into her office and you noticed a brunette woman sat behind a desk when you walked in and saw her look up as you and your mum entered the office.

You could feel the stare coming from the brunette woman but you just ignored her and sat down on the chair in front of your mums desk leaning back into the seat, you watched as your mum moved to sit behind her desk when you heard "Marjorie, who is this" come from the woman at the desk next to your mum's desk "Autumn meet Y/N, she is my daughter" your mum says to the woman who you learn is called Autumn and looking at Autumn you see her raise her eyebrow at your mum not really showing emotions and you saw Autumn turn to you "I'm Autumn, your mum never mentioned you" she said to you and looking at your mum you saw her smile at you but you don't return the smile "I've heard all about you and everyone here" you say whilst glaring at your mum not happy that none of her friends knew she had a daughter "sweetie don't be like that" your mum says to you but you just stand up and pick up your bag "I'll be outside waiting" you tell her and leave the room but stopped in the doorway "don't want to be in the way or anything" you say and saw your mums face drop at what you said and you just leave the room heading outside feeling tears in your eyes start to develop. You walked down the corridor to leave the building but since you was looking down you bumped into someone looking up to apologise you see another brunette woman who was wearing a sundress "sorry" you mumble and went to walk past her but stopped when you feel her touch your shoulder "don't apologise, are you okay" she asked you with a soft voice and you quickly realise this was Charlotte who your mum had told you about "yeah I'm fine, you must be Charlotte" you say to her and saw her look at you with a surprised expression on her face "yes I'm Charlotte but I don't know who you are" Charlotte says to you which made you chuckle dryly "what a surprise, you wouldn't" you say bitterly and you don't know if it was because of the tiredness or finding out that your mum never mentioned you but you was starting to get angry and very bitter towards your mum "okay who are you" Charlotte asked you "go ask your boss" you say and just storm away from Charlotte.

Marjorie what as you left the room and she just sat there not knowing what was going on with you but she was starting to get concerned about you, she say back in her chair and leant her head back "Marjorie why have you never mentioned you had a daughter" Autumn asked her and she was about to respond but was interrupted by Charlotte walking into the office with a concerned but confused look on her face "you okay my love" Marjorie asked Charlotte and she saw Charlotte look at her "yeah but who was the girl I bumped into, I asked her but she told me to ask 'my boss' she seemed to know who I was" she heard Charlotte say and saw her do air quotations whilst saying 'my boss' and Marjorie just put her head down rubbing her forehead "that is Y/N and she is my daughter sorry if she was rude to you but she has just found out I haven't mentioned her to anyone" she explained to Charlotte and saw the woman drop her jaw in shock "you have a daughter" she heard Charlotte say to her and she just nodded her head "but, what, how old is she" Marjorie heard Charlotte stumble over herself "she is 15" she admits to both women in the office "15, Marjorie I've know you for ten years and you have never mentioned her before, no wonder she was a bit bitter when I asked her who she was" she heard Charlotte say and she looked at her long time friend in shock at hearing how you acted "what did she say" she asked Charlotte "not much, we bumped into each other and she apologised and after making sure she was okay, she just looked at me before asking if I was Charlotte and when I said I was and told her I didn't know who she was she didn't look surprised at the comment and just said and I quote 'what a surprise, you wouldn't' and stormed off after the boss comment" Charlotte explained to her and Marjorie didn't even know what to say and just sat back in her chair feeling lost at how to deal with you "why haven't you mentioned her before, she looked broken and angry" she heard Charlotte ask her and with a sigh Marjorie looked up "truthfully I don't know, every time I went to mention or even tell someone I just stopped myself, however I think there is something else is going on with her, she has been very quiet and sleepy lately and that's not like her she is normally so bubbly and happy but the last few days she has gone from happy to basically depressed I don't even know the last time I saw her eat a meal, she barley leaves her room when we're at home" Marjorie explains and felt herself tear up.

Marjorie turned to Charlotte when she heard "that does sound like depression Marjorie, the no eating, no sleeping being bitter to people but I think that has just been made worse since she found out nobody you work with knows about her and she probably feels neglected and that you feel ashamed of her by not mentioning her" come from Charlotte and Marjorie felt like a failure of a mother for not noticing you was struggling "I need to speak to her, do you know where she went" Marjorie says whilst packing her stuff away before walking to the door "she went outside" she heard Charlotte say to her and she nodded at the woman "Autumn I'll see you tomorrow, I'm going to take her home to have a chat instead of doing it here" she says to her deputy before leaving the office and went to look for you hoping you haven't gone far.

Outside you were sitting on the bench outside the building just feeling empty and numb, you couldn't comprehend what you have done to make your mum not mention you to her friends all you kept thinking was 'is she ashamed of me' and once that thought came it didn't go away, leaning forward you put you head in your hands and just felt like someone turned a tap on your emotions and you just started to sob into your hands, you jumped when you felt someone put their hand on your shoulder and you looked up to see your mum stood there with a concerned expression on her face "lets go home" you heard her say but you just sat there looking at her and couldn't help with what you said to her "don't want your friends to see your daughter" you say in a bitter tone with tears coming down your cheeks and you watched as she turned to you and looked at you "sweetie" she started to say to you but you quickly cut her off "don't 'sweetie' me mum, you've been here for so long that I only know that you have worked here, and in that time none of your friends know you have a daughter, what you ashamed of me or disappointed in me you didn't tell anyone" you say getting angrier the more you spoke to her and you noticed her face drop at every word you said to her, after a few minutes of not getting a response from your mum "WELL WHAT IS IT" you shout and saw her look at you in shock since you have never shouted before especially at her.

You stood there breathing heavy and just looked at your mum with more tears falling "that's what I thought" you said and just walk away from her "Y/N get back here, the car is on the other side" you heard her shout to you, not turning around you carry on walking "go back to work, I'll see you at home where I can't embarrass you or making you feel ashamed to have me as a daughter" you say and just carry on walking down the street ignoring her shouting you and made your way home with tears down your face. After walking home, you entered your house and locked the door behind you and walked up the stairs to your bedroom and entered the room and threw your bag on the floor and shut the door and walked into your bathroom that was attached to your bedroom and standing in front of your bathroom mirror you didn't even recognise the person staring back at you, turning the tap on you washed your face and whilst drying your face you noticed something shining on your bathroom side and saw it was one of your blades and looking at it you felt the overwhelming urge to let the thoughts win, grabbing it gently in your hands you slowly slide down the wall and flip it between your fingertips being careful with it. Sitting on the bathroom floor and having all the negative thoughts in your head you slowly pull up your school skirt and saw all your cuts that you have made, some were healing and some of them were fresh from the night before, you brought the blade to your thigh and made your first cut and you sat there watching the blood start to form and you slowly relax feeling the release of everything leave you, you made a few more cuts on both thighs and sat there on the bathroom floor watching the blood slowly slide down your thigh on to the floor, you was sat there in your own little bubble just mesmerized by the sight in front of you and was about to make a few more cuts but heard a gasp coming from your door way making you freeze and you slowly looked up to see your mum stood in the doorway with her hand to her mouth staring at you on the floor with a blade to your bloody thigh.
