Culinary School

Prompt: you get accepted into culinary school but first you tell your parents the news

You ran into your mum's work place and was lucky they both worked in the same place but this time you ran straight to your mama who would be in the kitchen cooking the food for the children and would be prepping the Christmas lunch for the staff party, you ran into the kitchen and came to a halt "MAMA" you shout with excitement and laughed when you saw your mama nearly drop the utensils in her hand "JESUS CHRIST" you heard her shout which made it even funnier for you "sorry mama" you say to her once you had calmed down from laughing to much at her reaction "Y/N what have I told you" you hear your mama say to you sternly when you see her turn to look at you "never to sneak up on a chef" you say to her with a wide smile and you have to stop yourself from laughing again "yes and what else" you heard her ask you "only to jump scare mum" you say with a nod which got her to chuckle at you "that's my girl" you heard her say and you see her smile back at you "now did you need something" you hear ask and you remember why you were here in the first place again. You walk over to her and pull out an envelope from your handbag before handing it over to her and see her take it from you with a confused look on her face "what's this" you hear her ask and you roll your eyes at her "open it and you will find out" you say to her and see her slowly open the envelope "do you know what this is" you heard her ask and you nod at her with a smile on your face trying to contain your excitement but was struggling nearly, you watched as your mama pulled out the paper from inside the envelope and see her read the paper before hearing her gasp and seeing her look at you a few times before reading it again "are you serious" you hear her ask and you just smile even wider "I GOT IN" you scream and start bouncing up and down "ohh my baby is going to culinary school, I'm so proud of you" you heard her say and you feel her pull you in for a tight hug "mama can't breathe" you get out when she nearly cuts of your oxygen supply "sorry sweetie, now who else knows does your mumma know" you hear her ask as she lets you go from the tight hug.

After getting oxygen back into your body you shake your head at her "no I wanted you to be the first one to know, and I will tell mum later at the staff party" you say to her with a smile and see her look at you in shock "I'm the first to know" you heard her ask you which you nod at her "you have inspired me to do this and I wanted you to be the first to know about it since you helped me more than anything, mumma has supported me but she can't cook to save her life" you say and chuckled at the end and heard your mama laugh at your dig at your mum's cooking ability "yeah, it amazes me that with a wife and child who can cook she still can't cook at all" you heard your mama say with a chuckle of her own "ohh there is something else but I want to give you that with mumma later" you say to her remembering the other secret you had been keeping from your parents and see her look at you with curious eyes "its not bad and it's an early Christmas present" you explain and see her nod at you slowly "okay, well if you're here and not busy how about you help me with the Christmas party food, whilst I finish the children's food" you heard your mama ask you "sure, let me wash my hands and out on your spare apron" you say and walk over to the sink and wash your hands properly before drying them and put on the apron to keep your clothes clean. You had finished prepping the food for the Christmas party and was putting the last few bits in the oven to cook before deciding to make your secret Christmas brownie recipe, you gathered the ingredients that you would need knowing your mama had pretty much everything in the kitchen to make anything and started to make your brownies and added the secret ingredient that makes them even better than normal brownies "mama taste" you say and push a spoon into her mouth when she turned to you when she heard your words and you pulled out the spoon and placed it in the sink and see her eyes go wide "delicious, what is it" you ask her and you pour the brownie mix into a large cake pan and spread it out before adding chocolate chips over the top before placing it in the oven to bake "my secret Christmas brownie recipe" you say to her after closing the oven and moved to start washing the pots you have used "what is it because that was really good" you hear her ask and you just shake your head at her "it wouldn't be a secret if I told you" you say to her with a smile and turn to look at her and saw her just staring at you "I have taught you well" you heard her say and you burst into laughter at her words.
