Multiple Surprises

Prompt: there are surprises all good around every corner

AN: OMG HOW IS THIS THE 100TH PART OF THIS ONE SHOT BOOK, FEELS LIKE I ONLY JUST STARTED IT.

AN: Marjorie is older in this to make it work, its not real so don't shoot me 

You were sat outside your mum's nursery in your car and was waiting for her to come out, you had told her you would pick her up from work so you could take her out for dinner but she was running a bit late which you didn't mind since it happens sometimes but you were getting anxious since you had something to tell her, you climbed out your car since you were getting hot inside and leaned against the bonnet of the car and closed your eyes to relax slightly. You opened your eyes when you heard a door open and saw your mum come out the building with a brunette woman and saw your mum lock up the building before seeing her turn around and walk towards you "I'll see you tomorrow Autumn" you heard your mum say and see her wave to the brunette who you saw look at you with a weird expression but you ignored it and pushed yourself away from your car and smiled at your mum "hi mum" you say to your mum and give her a quick hug before you let her go and you climb into your car with your mum getting in the other side and you quickly start the car and set off out the nursery and headed for the restaurant you had chosen to take your mum for dinner.

As you drove to the restaurant you glanced over at her quickly before focusing on the road "who was the woman you were with" you ask her and saw her look at you in the corner of your eye as you drove "that was Autumn, she is one of the assistant managers of the nursery" you heard her say to you and you nodded at her "so what is with this dinner, not that mind but I know you and you don't normally do spontaneous" you heard her say which made you laugh "can't I just take my wonderful mother out for dinner" you say after laughing and feel her glaring at you "yeah but you don't normally do this so what is it" you heard her say and you carried on driving before responding "you're right there is something but wait until later" you say gently and soon you pull up outside the restaurant and turn to her "lets go" you say after turning the car off and moved to climb out the car and you see your mum climb out her side and you lead her into the restaurant "hi I have a reservation for 2 under Van Gould" you say to the hostess and see her check for the name before smiling at you "your table is ready for if you would like to follow me" you heard her say and you pull your mum, since she was staring at you in shock, with you to the table "thank you" you say when the hostess walked away and you put your mum in the chair before sitting opposite "this wasn't spontaneous was it" you heard her ask and you just smirk at her "no it isn't, I have had this booked for 2 weeks" you tell her and pick up a menu and look at it trying to hide the smile that had formed on your face. After you had ordered your food you and your mum had ordered as well you lean back in your seat whilst taking a sip of your water whilst your mum was sipping her wine that she had ordered "so what are you hiding" you heard her ask and you put your glass down on the table and look at her "you can't wait can you not until after we have eaten" you ask her and see her shake her head "not even for me, just wait until after we have eaten it will be worth it" you say to her trying to get her to agree "fine" you heard her mutter and you smiled at her "trust me it will be worth it" you say to her "if you say so, how is work going" you heard her mutter before saying at a normal volume "work is fine, I love that I get to work my own hours more than anything" you say to her and see her nod at you "I get that, it does sound nice to just work when you need to" you heard her say which made you roll your eyes at her "it is nice and I don't work when I need to, I work most of the day but I get to take breaks when I want and after 5pm I don't do anything related to work, my job isn't that complicated I illustrate books" you say to her with a chuckle "hey what you do is amazing, the illustration I have seen you do are amazing, speaking off I need a favour" you heard her say and you look at her with narrowed eyes "what favour" you ask her "how good are you still at face painting" you heard her ask which confused you slightly "I still do it sometimes for people why" you ask her "I need a face painter to come in tomorrow for 3 hours and I had one lined up but they have cancelled and I remembered you used to do it" you heard her say which made you nod at her "I'll do it, I don't mind" you say to her before seeing your food being brought over and placed in front of you "really, you don't mind" you heard her ask which caused you to shake your head at her "no, let me know the time to be there and I will be there" you say and start to eat your food that was in front of you.
