Tough Love

Prompt: 3 people give you a bit of tough love when you don't ask for help when you need it the most 

TW: death, cancer 

You rushed into your home and went to the bedroom that was on the ground floor and opened the door and felt tears well up in your eyes "mumma" you whisper and walked over to the bed where your mum was hooked up to different machines that were silent and saw your mum's nurse stood to the side with her doctor "I'm sorry" you heard the doctor say and you wiped the tears the fell down your cheeks "don't be, I knew it was coming" you say quietly and lean down to kiss your mum's forehead "love you mumma" you whisper to her and gave her one last hug before looking at the doctor and nurse "what happens now" you ask them and tried to control your tears "we will let you have a few minutes with her before letting them take her" you heard the doctor explain and you nodded at him and knelt on the floor next to where your mum lay in the bed and saw them leave the room. You turned to your mum and held her hand for the last time "mumma, I can't believe your not going to be here anymore with me, I love you mumma you were the best mum in the world and I will never forget everything you have done for me" you whisper to her and let the tears fall freely down your cheeks, you carried on talking to your mum for a few minutes before hearing a soft knock on the door and sighed knowing that it was time for them to take your mum "come in" you say whilst standing up and looked over to the door and saw the doctor and nurse walk back in "its time for us to take her" you heard the doctor say and you nod your head at him and moved back from the bed "love you" you whisper one last time and walked out the room heading into the living room not wanting to see them move your mum's body and put your head in your hand trying to figure what your meant to do next but felt like your head was going 100mph, hearing footsteps you looked up and saw the nurse walk into the living room "we are going to leave, do you have anyone you can call, we don't want to leave you alone right now" you heard her say and you shake your head "I'll be fine, I just need to be alone right now" you whisper and see her nod "if your sure" you heard her say and you nod at her and see her leave the room and heard the front door shut close.

You sit on the couch and try to get your mind to slow down, you were 19 and your mum had just passed away and you didn't know what to do or anything, you knew your work colleagues would help you but you didn't want to burden them with anything and didn't want the pity but also no one from your work knew your mum was even terminally ill, you stay sitting on the couch and watched the clock tick on the wall in front of you and sat there crying from the pain of losing your mum. You were startled when you heard your phone ring and you quickly picked it up and wiped your eyes when you saw it was Charlotte ringing you "hello" you say trying to make it sound like you weren't crying "hi Y/N" you heard Charlotte say before hearing "I was ringing to see if you was in so I could drop of your jumper that you had left at work" come down the phone and you looked at the clock on the wall and saw it was 6:45pm and realised you had been sat on the couch for nearly 5 hours "I'm in, but I can grab it tomorrow I don't want you to come out your way" you say softly down the phone and heard her chuckle "I have to pass yours since Mia has picked me up and we are going to hers" you heard her say "I'll meet you outside, just beep when your outside" you say after a few seconds "okay, we will be five minutes or so" you heard her say and you hung the call up after saying goodbye and put your phone on the seat next to you and put your head in your hands. You stood up from the couch and walked to the front door when you heard a beep come outside and you stopped to look in the mirror near the door and sighed when you saw your reflection and saw that you had red eyes from crying, gently wiping your eyes you walked out the front door and walked over to the black mustang that was parked in front of your house and saw Charlotte wind down the car window and pass you the jumper you had been wearing that day but had took off on your lunch "thank you" you say as you take the jumper off her and brought it to your chest and nearly cried when you smelt your mums perfume lingering on the jumper still "no problem, you okay" you heard Charlotte say "yeah, I'm good" you say to her before continuing "I better head back in" you say and see her nod at you "see you later Char, Mia" you say and wave at them before heading back into your home and closed the door behind you and leant against it and broke down crying and walked slowly to the couch and laid down on it whilst holding the jumper to your chest.
