A PUPPY

Prompt: you get your daughters a surprise 

AN: this is just a short fluffy one shot hope you enjoy some cuteness

You knew your wife was going to kill you but your daughters have been asking for years for this certain thing and you knew they would be overjoy, walking into the house you heard silence and was glad that your wife was out at work still and your daughters were out shopping with their aunt Charlotte for the day and you had chance to set up the surprise "right little one, lets get you ready for your new siblings" you whisper to the German Shepherd puppy that was in your arms and you walked into the living room to set up the surprise for your three daughters. You had put holes in a plain box and placed a bow on the lid but wouldn't put the puppy inside until your family was just arriving home since your wife was picking your daughters up from their aunts on her way home so it gave you more time to set up the surprise but also it gave you a chance to play with the puppy before your daughters got home because you knew once your family found out about the puppy you wouldn't get a chance to play or even hold the puppy since they will hog the puppy to themselves which you didn't mind but you still wanted a chance to play with the puppy whilst you had the moment "I wonder what they will name you little girl" you whisper to the puppy in your lap knowing your daughters would probably argue over the name since your younger 2 would probably suggest something very unique whilst your oldest would suggest something sensible. You put the puppy in the box when you heard the front door open before standing in front of the box to hide it for a moment before seeing your wife and children walk into the living room "hi my darling" you say to your wife with a wide smile and saw her glare at you "what have you done" you heard your wife Janice ask and you just shake your head "nothing" you say before turning to your children "hi Tia, Jaime and Nancy did you have a good day with your aunt" you asked and saw them look at you with weird looks "why did mama call us by our names she never call us by our names" you heard Tia ask and you just blink before shaking your head to refocus "anyway I have a surprise for you all" you say to your family before moving to the side to reveal the box on the floor "oohh what is it mama what is it" you heard Nancy ask and you chuckled at her question before replying "well you have to open it to find out but you need to be calm and let Mini Houdini take the lead" you say gently and see your youngest two settle down quickly at your words.

You moved to sit down on the floor next to the box and held your hand out for your wife "come sit my darling I think you will like this as well" you say and see her walk over to you and take your hand whilst she sits on your lap and you wrap an arm around her waist "girls be calm" you remind them and see Tia move closest to the box first and saw Jaime and Nancy follow their big sister over to the box before seeing them sit in front of the box. Once you knew your daughter's were calm you nodded at Tia "open the box Mini" you say gently and watched with baited breath as Tia slowly lifted the lid of the box before hearing her gasp when you knew she had spotted what was inside "really mama" you heard Tia ask and you nod at her before seeing Jaime and Nancy shuffle closer to look inside the box before hearing "OMG A PUPPY" come from the twins and you shushed them "girls calm now" you say to them to make them settle back down "sorry mama, but you got us a puppy" you heard Nancy say and you nod at her "I did but you have to remain calm around the puppy she is only a baby" you say before moving Janice slightly so you could reach into the box and pick the puppy out the box so your family could see the puppy better before hearing "darling when did you get the puppy" come from Janice and you turn to look at her with a sheepish smile "umm today" you say before handing her the puppy "how can you say no to that face" you say to her and see Janice look down at the puppy in her arms before seeing her look back up at you "your forgiven" you heard her say and you smile at her before taking the puppy back off her and placed it on the floor so your daughters could stroke the puppy.

You sit back and watch your daughter interact with the puppy and you felt your wife turn to look at you "if you ever do this again then you will be on the couch for a week" you heard her say and just gulped before nodding your head quickly at her words "understood" you say before feeling her move to sit on the floor properly before hearing "mama what is the puppy called" you heard Jaime ask and you smile at her before moving her to be on your lap "well Little Houdini, this puppy doesn't have a name and will need to be named by you and your sisters it is a little girl so it needs to be a girl name" you explained to her and see all of them nod at your words before hearing "Yoda" come from Nancy and you just shake your head at her "no chaos it needs to be a girl name and Yoda is a girl name" you say to her and see Nancy slowly nod at your words before hearing "what about jelly bean" come from Jaime and you burst into laughter at her name choice "maybe as a nickname" you heard Janice say to Jaime "okay mumma" you heard Jaime mumble and you look at Tia to suggest a name for the puppy and see her look at the puppy before seeing her smile which was followed by "what about Lola" you heard her suggest and you smile at her before hearing "I like that" come from Janice and you see Jaime and Nancy look at each other before seeing them nod their heads "I think we have a name for this little girl" you say and reach out to pet the puppy. Stroking the newly dubbed Lola's head you share a look with Janice before giving her a kiss and after breaking the kiss you turned to your daughters "listen girls, whilst having a puppy is fin it does come with responsibilities so I will making each of you share the jobs that come with owning a puppy and there will be no arguing about this okay" you say and make them realise you were being serious about this "so later on at dinner we will be talking about what each of us will be doing because me and mumma will also helping with the jobs" you say to them and see them nod at you before hearing "thank you mama for the puppy" come from Tia and you lean over to give her a kiss on the forehead "your welcome mini Houdini" you whisper to her before feeling Nancy and Jaime jump on you which made you fall backwards "thank you mama" you heard them both say and you place a kiss on each of their foreheads "your all welcome" you say before sitting back up and placed the twins back on the floor.
