Switch A Roo Part 2

Prompt: continues from Switch A Roo ends

Your helped into the car by Siobhan and slowly sink into the seat of the car and watched Siobhan run round the car and climbed into the drivers seat "any more contraction darling" you heard her ask you whilst staring the car "not yet, my waters have broken though can we just head home so we can relax before ringing the midwife" you ask her and see her nod at you "sure darling" you heard her say and you felt the car set off from the car park, you were in the car for 10 minutes when you felt another contraction "bon" you get out before taking deep breath and letting it out again and repeated it a few times "breath darling, you are doing so well" you heard Siobhan say and felt her take hold of your hand which you quickly took hold of and tightened your hold on her hand which you loosened once the pain was over but kept hold of her hand whilst she drove to your shared home. You both quickly get home and Siobhan pulled the car on to the driveway and you stayed seated and unbuckled your seatbelt whilst Siobhan climbed out her seat and jogged around the car to open your door and helped you out the car and you both walked into your home and you slowly walked up the stairs and into your bedroom, you heard Siobhan moving around downstairs and you got changed out the clothes you were wearing and into a black nightgown and waddled downstairs in search of your wife who you could hear moving downstairs.

Once you got downstairs you headed for the kitchen, walking into the kitchen you see Siobhan making drinks for you both and just messing around the kitchen and you could tell she was slightly panicking "bon, are you okay" you ask her and moved closer to her "yes, I should be asking you that you are the one in labour" you heard her ask and you see her walk to you and wrapped you in a hug "I know but I want us both to be on the same page, we don't know how long I'm going to be in labour for and I want us to be relaxed and calm" you say whilst letting go of her and looked her in the eye, you saw her relax at your words "okay, we can relax and let this take its own journey, I will ring your midwife whilst we go and relax in the living room" she tells you whilst guiding you into the living room but you had to stop due to another contraction "ughhh" you get out and grip Siobhan's hand tightly "darling I'm here" you hear Siobhan whisper and feel her move to rub your back "I'm good" you say and carry on walking slowly into the living room with Siobhan following behind you. Settling on the couch you watched as Siobhan pulled out her phone and rang your midwife for you, grabbing the tv remote you put on some music to be in the background and leant back against the couch and closed your eyes briefly, you quickly open your eyes when you feel the couch dip and see Siobhan sitting next to you "your midwife is on the way, she wants me to time your contractions and how far apart they are, she wants you to relax she did say that it would take her 30 minutes to get here" she tells you whilst taking your hand in hers and pulled up the timer on her phone ready to time your next contraction and how far apart they are.

You both sit on the couch and talk only stopping when you get a contraction in between conversation, you rest between contractions and you notice your contractions are every 20 minutes at the moment; you were in the middle of another contraction when you heard a loud knock on the front door and you reluctantly let go of Siobhan's hand so she could go answer the door, as the contraction ended you saw Siobhan and your midwife walk into the living room and you waved to the midwife whilst catching your breath "hi Mrs Serpent-Knight how are we doing" she asked you and once you got your breath back you focused on her "hi Clarissa, doing alright I've had 5 contractions 2 before we rung you and 3 after we rung you, one has just ended now" you explain to your midwife Clarissa and saw her nod at you "that's great, you said your waters have broken" she asked you whilst putting her bag down on the chair next to the couch you were sitting on "that's correct, it broke about 2 hours ago" you explain and shift slightly on the couch to get comfortable "that's good to know, is it alright to see how your progressing" you hear her ask and you nod whilst saying "sure, I would love to know how far I am" to her and move so she could check you whilst your on the couch. Looking over at Siobhan you noticed she was wringing her hands together and you immediately noticed she was starting to panic again but also you could tell she was getting nervous, you turned your attention back to your midwife when she finished checking you "I have a feeling you have been in labour for longer than we think, you are 6 cm dilated have you had any pains or anything today" she asked you whilst taking her gloves off "I had some back pain today but thought it was just the extra weight but I've also had a few pains in my stomach but thought they were kicks" you say and rub your stomach "I think they were signs of early labour, but this is your first pregnancy so the signs are easily to miss" Clarissa says and you turn to look at Siobhan to see her go pale "bon, go get changed okay into something comfy" you say to your wife and see her nod and leave the room leaving you with Clarissa.
