Jordan POV

Macey: Is there anything else you need sir?" she asked as I walked around the station.

Me: No, just bring me both cases when you find them." I directed as she nodded.

Breaking away from me, she walked in the other direction while I came in the lobby of my police station. The sound of a faint TV broadcast echoed in the lobby as other officers worked at their desk.

Reading over Karlie Reddington's case file, I grit my teeth as at the bottom where it once said "closed case" now said "open case."

Looking at everything we had on the situation, the memory of her decayed body flashed in my head as I shook it. Only a monster would do that to a pregnant woman and only a monster would get away with it.

With what criminals got away with nowadays, it did not surprise me when murderers managed to slip their way out of justice's handcuffs.

Slowly closing Karlie's file, I walked back to my office and threw it down on my desk.

Seeing the many files spread around it, I sighed as the chaos in my office was the same kind of chaos I was experiencing in my home life.

..Mia still hasn't reached out to me, not word.

Not a whisper.

I tried calling her family and her friends back in her hometown but they never picked. Being married to this woman, this woman being my wife..

My worry and my guilt started to turn into annoyance and irritation. At this point, it had almost been a month since she stormed out on me.

Understanding her rage and her pain about my actions, going a whole month without at least trying to solve our issues was unfair.

She knew how bad Treyjuan Davidson irked me, she knew.

..His kid being in the crosshairs of the arrow I shot was not intentional and she should've known that.

She should know the kind of man I am would never knowingly involve a child, I would never knowingly let Megan get...addressed like that in front of her daughter.

I was angry, fueled by my never ending vendetta against the great Treyjaun Davidson. Anger dug its claws into me and shook me around until it couldn't no more.

As much as I wanted to make anger the leading cause of my actions, I knew I couldn't.

I am a very capable man and I knew my actions were uncalled for. I knew why she was mad at me, I mean hell I got it now.

Still holding out on me was wrong, she needed to get over her feelings so we could talk and overcome this problem between us..

Sighing, I heard the sound of the station TV turn up as a familiar voice spoke started speaking.

Perking my ears to the sound of his voice, the name he spit out slowly made me look over my shoulder and out the door.

??:..But we have to take ownership." the voice led me out.

Slowly creeping from the halls leading to my office, I came around the corner and into the lobby as my officers crowded the TV.

??: A few weeks ago a search of Karlie Reddington's house was performed on the basis of her missing."

??: An arrest was made soon after based on simple pieces of evidence pulled from Mrs. Reddignton's house." the voice continued as I walked closer.
