The Coward & The Puppet

Jordan POV

Walking through the halls, I approached his room door as my officers walked with me. Staring through the covered glass, I knocked on it briefly as his voice told me to come in.

Turning the knob, I peeked my head in first to see who was in here with him.

Empty from chair to chair, my eyes landed on him as he laid in the hospital bed with his head towards the ceiling.

Anthony:..Are you coming in or not?" his voice annoyed as we stood there.

Walking all the way into the hospital room Taylor closed the door lastly as he was the last one in.

Standing to the left of Anthony's bed, my eyes traveled down to the sling clutching his arm against his chest.

Outside of the very apparent bullet hole in his arm, looking at his face and into his eyes a look of defeat I had never seen before sat presentably on him.

Staring at the bugs in the lights on the ceiling, he said nothing as I walked further into the room.

Me:..How are you?"

Anthony: How do you think?" he snarled as I saw that coming.

Taking a seat in the chair closes to him, Taylor followed my lead by taking a seat while my third officer guarded the door.

Me: I have Jim getting a search warrant for his house now.." I mumbled as Anthony stayed still.

Me: Once we find the guns we will issue our arrest warrants." I said as he scoffed.

Anthony: You know good and damn well you won't find them." he hissed.

Anthony: By now, he has already gotten rid of it."

Me: Maybe, but his ankle monitor GPS shows that he was in the area at the time of your break in."

Anthony: So arrest him."

Me: Can't." I said as Anthony looked down at me.

Me: Just because he was in the area doesn't mean he was at your house-."

Anthony: Bullshit." he snarled as I nodded.

Anthony: That's bullshit and you know that's bullshit!"

Me: You know I know that Ant." I snarled back as he was getting angry with me.

Me: You know damn well I know that but we also know Trey-."

Anthony: He shot me in broad day light!!" he yelled at me.

Anthony: He shot Renee and then left like it was nothing!"

Me: I am aware of that Anthony but the facts still stand." I eased as he sucked his teeth.

Me: We know who he is connected with, who he controls. He can easily disprove that just because he was in the area at the same time does not mean he showed up at your house." I told as he grit his teeth.

Throwing his head back onto his pillow, his usual snide comments were held back as he seemed to have something else on his mind. Wanting to pry and get it out of him, I decided not to as right now he looked like he was going through enough.

Sitting back, I folded my hands as the other news I felt he needed to hear came to me. Opening my mouth to tell him, before I could finish a shadow appeared at the door.

Darting my eyes to the doorknob, it slowly turned as the door opened. Hearing the chains around his neck mash together, to say I was surprised to see the grin on his face as he slipped in was an understatement.
