With everything Kiana was going through, she anticipated many challenges ahead. However, she never expected to face a junior of hers in battle.
Miyabi Sakura. It didn’t feel like long ago that Kiana had seen her, a bright-eyed girl brimming with ambitions of becoming a hero—an ambition that resonated deeply with Kiana, reminding her of her own dedication.
But now, as Kiana clashed against Sakura’s metal arm with her bat, she felt an overwhelming surge of power emanating from her opponent. It was familiar—eerily so. A rush of energy that echoed Wan’s own. Kiana couldn’t shake the thought: did Wan have anything to do with Sakura’s transformation?
But that didn’t make sense. Wan was her mentor; why would he turn Sakura into this?
Kiana tried to sense the vibrant positivity that had once surrounded Sakura, the same aura that made her admire Wan's fondness for the girl. But that essence was gone, replaced by an unsettling strength that mirrored Wan's—no, it was Wan’s power coursing through her.
What had happened to Sakura?
That question haunted Kiana as she pushed against Sakura's metal arm, forcing her back several meters. "Enough!" she shouted, her voice tinged with urgency.
The push barely fazed Sakura, who brushed off the dust as if it were an inconvenience, her eyes locking onto Kiana with a fierce intensity. There was a hatred in those eyes—raw and personal.
"What has gotten into you, Sakura?!" Kiana exclaimed, finally demanding an answer. Earlier, the fight had consumed her, leaving no room for questions, but now she needed to know.
What had happened in the past six months to transform someone like Sakura into this?
The stillness between them was eerily loud. Kiana stared at Sakura, their gazes locked in a battle of souls. She couldn’t help but notice Sakura’s appearance: her face drawn and weary, a reflection of exhaustion fueled by nothing but hatred.
It confused Kiana. The energy surging through Sakura’s veins mirrored Wan’s, amplifying her bewilderment.
'This energy—it’s the same as Wan’s,' Kiana thought, gripping her bat tighter as if preparing for anything.
Sakura remained silent, a heavy weight settling between them as she continued to meet Kiana’s gaze. Finally, she took a step forward, refusing to answer the questions that hung in the air.
"Sakura..." Kiana’s voice was urgent, tinged with desperation as she raised her bat defensively. "I don’t have anything against you..."
"I do." Sakura’s response was immediate, laced with disgust as if Kiana’s words were an affront.
Kiana’s confusion deepened. Before she could respond, Sakura launched a punch. Kiana dodged to the side, her eyes widening in shock, revealing their brilliant blue hue as she barely avoided the attack.
They plunged into fierce combat, Sakura keeping pace with Kiana—a Kaslana renowned for her strength. Yet in this moment, Kiana’s prowess felt futile against Sakura’s metal arm.
Each strike from Sakura’s enhanced limb threatened to break Kiana, the force behind each blow staggering. She managed to evade some attacks, but others forced her to block with her bare hands, and the pain was excruciating.
Kiana was astonished that her bat endured so long against Sakura’s relentless assault.
In a sudden maneuver, Sakura seized Kiana’s bat, wrenching it upward. Kiana struggled to maintain her grip, but the momentum sent her hurtling toward the nearest wall.
