The starry night sky has never looked so magical before. Its light guiding those who were still seeking a path outside at that very late. And comforting those who were unable to sleep.

He walked around the hallways, followed by two guards who were keeping their distance from him.

He stopped by a certain door which was set open by the guards for him, he then stepped in and left them behind as they closed the door.

"Sorry, they did not give me a chance to knock"

Elmer said while walking into Louis's room, where Aylin stood by the open balcony watching the night sky.

"That's alright Elmer"

She replied, turning around to face him.

After they found a silver dagger handing into the outside of the burnt study room's window, things got more complicated.

When Elmer saw hers, the two looked exactly the same, which only meant that someone from Petra paid them a visit while they were busy fighting their own war.

"Aylin, I know you want to just leave and fight on your own but if it's true that Petra was behind the disappearance of Asher then this would not be your fight, it's Lydia's, Once Louis comes back we will come up with a plan and figure out how to approach this situation"

He then said while standing next to her.

"Am just worried about him, it's me who they want and I put him in danger I just-"

Elmer interrupted her words,

"It's not your fault, we will find out what happened, together"

Eyes full of confidence and hope, the same blue that saved many people was keeping her from making a reckless decision as to leave everything behind and go to Petra by herself.

"I am worried about Asher too, if they want you am sure they would not go through the trouble to just kill him"

Elmer then added.

His words seemed to be working because they did make sense to Aylin.

She knew how Rex could be very meriless but he was not stupid.

"Anyways, you look awful, I think you should get some sleep"

Aylin smiled while teasing him and trying to jump into a lighter conversation that would not shatter her soul.

"You should get some rest too, goodnight Aylin"

Elmer smiled back replying before walking away and leaving her alone in that room, left to her own thoughts and anxiety.

Walking past Edmund's room, he felt hesitant for a second but the guards already set the door open, into that dark chamber.

The only source of light was behind the door they just closed, letting Elmer walk into a very familiar room.

His eyes glanced around his surrounding, all of the books were in their right place, the plants looked dry and some of the flowers were withered.

The empty nightstand would usually have piles of opened books and Edmund would never forget to take care of his plants.

Knowing that the little prince was kept hostage by Leo for a whole day before the incident just made him wonder what exactly happened.

Elmer quietly grabbed a chair and sat closer to the little ones' bed.

His memories took him back to when Louis came up to him right after he found Edmund.

"Where did you find him? is he alright?"

Elmer's worried voice asked.

Louis was quiet for a second while still looking back at Elmer, it felt like e was trying to phrase everything in a way that would not end up hurting him.

"He was there, the whole time"

His words caught Elmer off guard, knowing that his little cousin had to witness so much was hurting him. It did not only make him feel bad, it triggered his own trauma that was long hidden by memory loss but he could not talk or say a single thing to Louis.

"He said he does not want to see you because you killed his father"

Louis then added.

With each word Elmer heard, his situation worsened, his hands were slightly shaking and his heartbeats were going faster.

"But he is just a child Elmer, I know he is confused I will talk to him once am back"

Louis said while gently patting his shoulder.

"It will be alright, don't worry too much"

He then added. Louis knew very well that his words might not be able to reach Elmer but he could not stop trying to comfort him.

Sitting on that chair quietly, while Edmund's angelic sleeping face was set towards him.

'How could I be so careless as to put you in a traumatising situation'

Elmer thought to himself. He could not shake off the heavy feeling of guilt and blame.

It might have not been his choice but if he made sure to find Edmund sooner he would still be safe from all of the bloody scenes he was exposed to.

"Am sorry Ed"

He said before getting up and quietly leaving the room.

Only a few hours between him and sunrise, that was when Elmer was able to finally walk back to his room.

A weird feeling hit him the moment he stepped in. It has been a long while.

It was clean and neat, Betty left him a bery big dinner on the table.

And even though it was cold and he was not feeling like eating, he did not want to make her efforts in cheering him up go to waste.

After washing off his body exhaustion with hot water and changing into new clothes, he sat down to eat while his mind was elsewhere.

Elmer's thoughts were all over the place, from Edmund to Asher to his coronation.

He wished he could figure it all out soon but that was not possible.

All he could do was wish and pray for a better tomorrow.

Once the sunrays reached the green fields and colorful flowers, the light touched her small window, while she was making her bed.

She set the window open, for fresh air to find its way inside.

Her eyes suddenly spotted a royal carriage approaching their house and without thinking twice, Ida rushed down stairs, followed by the rest of the girls.

Since Mary noticed the carriage and shouted the news, all of them were standing outside the house, waiting for it to arrive.

With warm chests and eyes full of hope, it stopped in front of them and a very familiar face was the first thing they saw.

Hawk's smile made them feel even better, knowing that everything must have went well...
