It was a bad night, so I was expecting to be in a bad mood. After having my breakfast, I just sat on the couch and watched some stupid television shows. That was when the phone rang.
"Yes?" I answered it as fast as possible.
"Hey, Cassie, I'm Elena. How are you doing?"
"Fine."
"I don't hear you fine."
"Well, I had a bad sleep."
"Any visions?" She asked whispering.
"No, no. I just couldn't sleep. Anyway, why did you want me?"
"Well, we have some kind of party in my house. I was wondering if you would like to come. Before you say anything, I want you to know that there will be Jena, Alaric, Mason, Damon and Caroline."
"I haven't spoken to Caroline, since... You know."
"Yeah. Will you come?"
"Yeah, sure. Count me in. I'll be there in an hour. Even if Damon is there too."
"I know you don't like Damon, but please can you bear with him for a little? For Caroline?" She pleaded me.
"Ok. Now that you mentioned it, I have to remember to bring some stakes I found in the basement..."
"Cassie..."
"See you in an hour." I said and hung up.
After an hour, I was outside Elena's house. There was sitting Caroline with Elena talking.
"Hey." I greeted them.
"Hi, Cassie. Thanks for coming. I'll go see if Jena needs me." Elena spoke first and then went into the house, leaving Caroline and me alone.
"Hey, Caroline. How are you doing?" I asked her, sitting on a bench near her.
"Struggling to get used to this situation."
"I see. Look I understand in an extent."
"No, you can't understand me."
I explained her everything about me being a prophetess and she didn't reacted at first. Then, she had a worrying expression on her face.
"What's wrong? Was it too much?" I asked her.
"No, I was just wondering. Do you hate me too?"
"What? Why would I hate you?"
"Because you are kind of a witch, like Bonnie, and she hates me."
"She doesn't hate you. She is just shocked. You know witches are enemies with vampires. And then her grandmother died the way she died. It is difficult for her. That's why she doesn't like vampires very much."
"But, I'm a vampire now, so she doesn't like me too."
"Prove her that the old Caroline we all know and love hasn't been lost. And believe me, things will get better."
