Guests started arriving at 7pm, all bringing presents and food. There were ten guests coming and we already had eight so we were just waiting for my parents.

"The house is so beautiful Olivia!" Jake's mom placed her hand on my shoulder. I smiled and sipped my wine. "Thank you!"

"And the dinner looks just divine, I cannot wait to meet your family!"

"Ah I'm sure they will love you guys." I grinned.

She nodded, taking a sip from her wine glass. "Ah excuse me, Bennett cannot have that food over there he has high blood pressure."

She scurried across the floor like a squirrel while I looked around the house at all the guests talking with one another all around. Jake was talking with Oliver and Patrick while Poppy talked to Jackson and Isabella.

By now, everybody knew about the pregnancy and that Jake was the father. Ya they still give him disapproving looks but he just shrugs it off.

He has been doing wonderful with everything and seemed perfectly fine these past few days.

I sat down on the leather couch, sipping my wine and listening to the carols that were playing from the stereo in the kitchen.

"Hey, all alone by yourself?" I heard a voice to my left. I quickly turned my head and laughed after hesitating for a moment.

"Geez, Patrick you scared me." I laughed.

He smiled and sat down next to me. "What did you get for Christmas so far?"

"Well Jake got me a Sodastream and a Pandora bracelet."

"That's cool, what did you give him?"

"I got him a $100 gift card to the golf shop at the mall and he wanted some new Adidas runners."

Patrick nodded and sipped his Coke, at least I hope it was Coke. "What are you drinking, hopefully not alcohol."

"My mom would kill me if I drank alcohol." He scoffed.

I laughed right as the doorbell rang, Jake walked over and opened it. My parents gasped and hugged him.

Walking over to the door, I set down my glass and reached out to hug my mom. My dad shut the door behind him and hugged me.

"Hey guys!" Jake greeted them. They set down their things and removed their shoes before walking in the house, waving at everybody.

"Wow what a party you two have going on here!" My dad joked while we walked into the kitchen where Jake's parents were standing; chatting to each other.

"Merry Christmas!" My mom handed me a bottle of wine. "Aw thank you mom, we should crack this open during dinner."

"Hey mom and dad come meet Liv's parents." Jake motioned for the two to come over, they smiled and walked over.

"Hi you guys!" My mom smiled, extending her hand out to give a hand shake to Kate and Bennett.

"Hi! Lovely to meet you guys for the first time!" Jake's mother laughed. The two dads shook hands and smiled.

We left the four to hang out while Jake and I went to talk with Dawn in the dining room who was sitting with Jackson.

"Hey man." Jake said, sitting down next to Jackson.

"Hey." He responded. "Don't believe we have met!" He looked at me.

"Oh yeah! It's great to finally meet you!"

"You as well! Wow Jake you got a good looking one here." He winked at Jake.

We all laughed and talked about our jobs, popular news topics and of course celebrities.

Soon enough, dinner had started and we all sat around the table eating while some ate in the kitchen.

The house was full of delicious smells and laughter, exactly what Christmas should be like and what would be Christmas without carols and presents?

After dinner we all gathered around the living room, sitting where there was space on the couches and floor. The fire was roaring while songs played in the background and our lovely Christmas tree was lit up with twinkling lights.

"Who's first?" I asked, looking around at everybody.

"I'll start." My mother offered, getting up from her seat and grabbing a present. She looked at the gift tag and read out. "Isabella."

Isabella smiled and reached for the present out of my mother's hands, she placed it in her lap which was a really small place because of the large bump.

My friend opened up the gift, tearing the gift wrap and gasped at the present inside. "Oh my gosh!" She cried out, looking at her gift.

She looked at the card taped to the gift and read out who it was from. "To Isabella from Jake."

Everybody looked at Jake who was smiling along with Isabella. I couldn't help but feel jealousy. They seem to have a connection of some sort from the baby....

I brushed it off and turned my mind back to what was happening. "What is it?" I asked.

"It's a baby night light for the nursery." She smiled. "It goes on the ceilings like lights and shines when the baby wakes up. It's triggered by the noise." She gushed. "Thank you!"

"Lovely!" Jake's mom responded.

We moved on to another present for Jackson. "To Jackson from Jake and Liv." He read out and opened up the present.

"Awesome!! It's a membership to a golf club just like Jake! Yes man we can golf together."

The two boys laughed and looked at the present together. We moved on to a present from Oliver to Poppy.

She held up an Apple watch and smiled. "Aw baby this is amazing!! Thank you!" She leaned over and kissed her boyfriend in front of everybody.

"Gross, get a room." I rolled my eyes and laughed afterwards.

We all opened presents until we finished, everybody got tons of presents and then we decided to sing carols and eat s'mores before it was time for the night to end.

"Mmmm I love s'mores." Oliver said, one arm around Poppy and one shoving a s'more in his mouth.

"Me too." She laughed.

You could feel the happiness in the room like it was in the air. I loved every moment of this night and I loved my new family.

Merry Christmas.
