Alex POV

"Hey cmon babe it'll be fun." Brianna kissed my cheek and we started walking to our car. The six of us piled in and started the drive to San Francisco. I didn't tell any of them about me and Tobin, except for Ali who already knew. She sat next to me and gave me a sympathetic glance.
"Let's have a good time!" Dean said as we pulled into the parking lot of the arena.
"We have great seats."
We got in line with our tickets and waited in line for maybe an hour. Once we got in a took a good look around. People were holding up signs with Tobin's face on them. They had tees with her name. They weren't even out yet and people were screaming and yelling. I drowned everything out and I didn't realize I had until I heard the cheers get louder and a familiar voice say, "How we doin San Francisco?". I just started up at her. She looked as good as when I last saw her. She seemed to act the same. Happy, fun, free. Honestly, I missed that. I missed the child that she was. She laughed as she talked some more but I couldn't hear her. They started playing a song while my eyes were glued to her. She jumped around and had this amazing presence, you could feel the happiness radiating off of her. I still liked their music so I danced, but as little as possible, just enough to convince my friends. I felt Ali glance at me all night. I'd barely heard anything they'd said until Tobin said something that made me jolt my head up.
"So, anyone out there ever been in love?" She said. The audience cheered, along with some, "I'm in love with you Tobin!" She chuckled back and responded with empty "I love you too's". Brianna put her arm around me and said, "Yeah, I think I have." I froze. I gave her a nervous smile and nodded.
"Well," Tobin started, "I've only ever been in love once." My eyes widened. She turned back to her friends and Kelley made a face at her.
"And man," she continued, "I didn't deserve this girl. She was, everything. And I really fucked it up. Let me tell ya, the end, wasn't pretty, but the ride was a hell of a lot of fun. So this song, is for her. And to tell her that, I just want her to be happy. And, maybe she was right, maybe we just aren't meant for each other, and as much as it hurt, if it's what she wants, then I'll give it to her." My stomach dropped. I couldn't believe that this was real life. She started to strum but she messed up her fingering and stopped. She messed up again and mumbled a, "Fuck" under her breath. On the third try, she got it.

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right,
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right,
I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right,
I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right,
I hope you had the time of your life.

"And if she's out there listening, I want her to know, that I regret every second I'm not with her. Anyway, enough of this softy bullshit, let's rock!" She laughed and strummed the guitar.
"I need to go to the bathroom." I said. I wiggled from Brianna's arms and go out as fast as I could. Instead of going to the bathroom, I ran out of the stadium. I ran to the car and sat in the passenger seat. What, just, happened? I didn't even know what to think. I'm not sure how long I was in the car, but I figured I should try and find my way back to my friends. I looked at the front of the stadium, the doors seemed to be closed and locked. I got out of the car and walked around the stadium, trying to find a back way in. And that, that is when my night got pretty interesting.
