Tobin POV

The applause was heard long before we stepped out in stage, and when we did, it only got louder. I walked out, stopping front and center. I greeted the crowd, throwing in the name of state for more cheers.
"So if you don't mind, we're gunna start this concert off a bit different tonight. A bit slower if you will." I smiled and thy cheered. I jogged up the stage steps to a grand piano waiting for me. I sat down and took a deep breath. I started playing, as did my friends.

We got a lot of time to get it right
It feels good to mess it up, maybe don't think about it
Going late night who needs a fantasy
Buzzing on Hennessy
Class like a Kennedy
And you're my nation, my revolution
Living right now, well you can call it disillusioned

I stood up in the excitement, partially kicking the piano bench away

Until tomorrow comes
This is how we run

So take the good stuff, honey
The money just won't buy
Spend it up however we like
So take the good stuff, honey
The money just won't buy
Don't try to save us
Cause we're doing it right
We are, we are the wasted youth
We are, we are the wasted youth

I turned and face the audience

It's my life
If I'm gonna waste it
Gonna waste it on you
It's my life
If I'm gonna waste it
I'll be wasted on you

Look what you did to me
A rebel born free
Running wild through the concrete jungle
Now I can't seem to stay away
Hell, I know that I'm gonna pay
But I do it anyway
You're the ultimate high that I'm tripping on
You're the edge of the cliff that I'm hanging on

Until tomorrow comes
This is how we run

So take the good stuff, honey
The money just won't buy
Spend it up however we like
So take the good stuff, honey
The money just won't buy
Don't try to save us
Cause we're doing it right
We are, we are the wasted youth
We are, we are the wasted youth

It's my life
If I'm gonna waste it
Gonna waste it on you
It's my life
If I'm gonna waste it
I'll be wasted on you

I tell myself
If I'm gonna fall
It'll be from high places
Even when it hurts
At least we loved hard
Didn't we, baby?

We are, we are the wasted youth
We are, we are the wasted youth
We are, we are the wasted youth
We are, we are the wasted youth

It's my life
If I'm gonna waste it
Gonna waste it on you
It's my life
If I'm gonna waste it
I'll be wasted on you

We finished out our set and thanked the audience. Then we got into a van with our driver and headed for the airport.
"On the road again." JJ said.
"Yeah, you know, I like it less and less now." Ash sighed.
"No Ash, you still love touring, you just hate being apart from your girlfriend." Kelley mocked, and the rest of us joined in. Ash sunk into her seat trying to avoid the teasing.
"What about Tobin? She's missing Alex!" Ash pleaded, anything to get the attention directed away from her.
"Yeah but they're married." JJ said.
"Plus I miss my wife in private, and don't make everyone else depressed in doing so." I said. Everyone nodded, except for Ash who mumbled and then grumbled, still sinking into the seat.
We boarded a plane to Colorado, we were coming from West Virginia. We went on the red eye and got there at about six in the morning. Yawning and stumbling out way through the airport, we all collapsed in a car and slept the whole way to the hotel. Once we got there, we simply went from napping in the car, to napping in beds. JJ and Kelley took one while Ash and I took the other. JJ and Kelley were out cold the second they hit the mattress. I put my bags down when I checked my phone for the first time in hours. There were a few texts from Alex.

Great job tonight! Watched some on TV!

Text me when you land babe, love you!

All good over there? Miss you!

I smiled reading them and updated her on what was happening. She replied pretty fast, even though is was about three a.m.

Tobin:
Why're you up? It's like 3 am, get some rest woman

Alex:
Ha-ha. I'm grading papers, I was supposed to give these kids their tests back WEEKS ago, yet I always find myself getting...distracted by you😉

I almost laughed out loud this time.

Tobin:
Hmmm. You can be quite distracting yourself Mrs. Heath

Alex:
Ok you're cute, which I like, but you need to stop so I can do my job and get payed, save it for later Heath😏

Tobin:
Ughhh, you're no fun

Alex:
Tobin Powell Heath I swear to god, take that back right now or I will fly to Denver and take you home

Tobin:
I wouldn't mind that babe

Alex:
Stopppppp, you're being cute again

Tobin:
I'm sorry, I just can't help it, it comes to naturally

Alex:
Oh yeah, uh-huh😑

I decided I should at least brush my teeth before sleeping for hours again so I threw my phone in the bed and went into the bathroom. Not a minute went by before I was interrupted.
"Tobiiiiiiiinnnn." Ash dragged out, I could tell her face was buried in a pillow.
"What?" I asked.
"Your phone's buzzing." She said.
"It's Alex," I called, "can you just read it?" I asked. I heard her roll over and start to read aloud.
"Oh, by the way, you'll never guess what I did today. Don't be mad but I did some poking around and..." she trailed off. I was brushing my teeth and very confused, something I hadn't thought before.
"Ash? What's up?" I asked with a mouthful of toothpaste. A few seconds went by.
"Guys! Guys! Guys!" She called to the others. I heard them ask her what was going on. I spit out the toothpaste and walked over.
"Ash what the hell?" I asked. JJ and Kelley were on either side of her reading the message over her shoulder. I saw their eyes get wider with each sentence they read.
"Guys what happened?" I asked as I yanked the phone out of their hands, I read over it myself.

Alex:
Oh, by the way, you'll never guess what I did today. Don't be mad but I did some poking around and I found like four or five good options for donors. Obviously I need you to look over them. I was thinking we do it so we find the guys most like you, so the kid can look like us. My mom was telling me about a friend of hers whose daughter got a donor and gave me her number so I was also thinking we should call her. Babe this is going to be so much fun. Honestly I can't wait to start the rest of our lives. I love you. Ok, now I REALLY need to go, and I'm sure you need sleep, miss you, and I'll see you soon, forever and always💞

I looked up at my friends with wide eyes and mouths hanging open. I looked down quickly to shoot a text to Alex.

Tobin:
Forever and always💞

"Y-you're having a kid?" Kelley asked. I sighed and sat down on the other bed.
"We're gunna try." I said.
"And we were gunna tell you guys, but we literally decided like two days ago." They just sat in silence.
"Guys I promise this won't interfere with our career. We're gunna be exactly the same, except now we'll have a little rodie." I said trying to make light of everything.
"Tobin, you're having a kid." JJ smiled.
"Yeah, congrats dude!" Kelley said hugging me.
"That can't be right. You can't have a kid." Ash said standing up. I looked at her, worried about what she was gunna say.
"You can't have a kid, because you pretty much still are a kid, dumbass." She smiled and I let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm so glad you guys took this well." I laughed.
"Of course we would, you're our best friend." JJ said.
"And don't you think we're excited to play and have that little dude running around backstage?" We all laughed.
"And this isn't, like too much for you guys right now? Unexpected?" I asked.
"I mean yeah, it's big news, but we'll take it slow, baby steps." Kelley said.
"Well guys nothing's set yet, Alex isn't even pregnant." I reminded them.
"Tobs, we all know Alex, when she has her mind set in something, it happens. And I'm thinking she's pretty set in this one." We all laughed again.
"Oh you bet she is." I said.
"Well we're real happy for you Tobs." Ash said.
"But also a little scared," Kelley chimed in, "I mean, just one of you is a lot to handle, now there's gunna be two? That's an uphill battle to say the least. You two will drive Alex insane." She finished.
"Hey she signed up for this." I defended with a smile. Ash hung an arm over my shoulders.
"You're right, and honestly, I don't think she's have it any other way."
