"Moms, this is Katie." Spencer gestured to a girl with long blonde hair in a light blue and white dress.
"Nice to meet you Katie." Tobin stood and shook her hand with a smile.
"Please, the pleasure is mine Mrs. Heath. I'm a huge fan of your music by the way." She said.
"Aw well thank you hun, actually the rest of the band is coming over today to practice if you guys wanna stick around." She said.
"Seriously! That would be fantastic, thank you so much!" She was shaking with excitement. She looked past Tobin to see me sitting at the counter.
"Oh I'm so sorry! Hi Mrs. Heath, it's nice to meet you." She put her hand out for me to shake. I hesitated a second before taking her hand.
"You too." I answered. Spencer jumped in.
"Uh, Katie and I met in chemistry, she helped me out when my grades started to drop. Tobin nodded and smiled at them.
"So Katie, you're saying he couldn't have done it himself?" I asked. She opened her mouth but didn't say anything. Tobin put a hand on my shoulder.
"Mom!" Spencer said. Tobin shot Spencer a 'calm down' look.
"Sorry Katie, my wife's a little sick and when she's not feeling well she can be, short with people." Tobin tried. Katie nodded with a smile.
"Anyway, we got to talking, and she invited me to see the school play she was in, that was amazing by the way." Spencer explained and leaned in to kiss her cheek. She smiled put a hand on his shoulder. I glared at them and Katie noticed. Immediately taking a step away from him. Only problem, Tobin noticed too.
"Spenc why don't you and Katie make yourself something to eat, momma went shopping today, we need to go, have a chat." She said to both me and Spencer. He nodded and silently thanked her. Tobin took me to our room and shut the door.
"I don't like her." I bluntly said.
"Lex," she started.
"I don't like her Tobin, she's all over him, has no respect, and has a total disregard for decency!" Tobin looked at me.
"Alright, Alex, Spencer kissed her, she even pushed him away to seem decent. She obviously respects us, she's well dressed, she's pretty, obviously smart if she can pull Spenc up from that Chem grade, she's great." She finished.
"I don't know Tobin." I said. She smiled.
"Lex, you don't like any of the boys' girlfriends." She chuckled a bit.
"Not true." I grumbled. She laughed more.
"Lex he could bring over a queen and you'd still disapprove. The last girl Jeff brought home was you in high school, and you still said no." She said.
"Yeah well I was a bitch in high school." I said.
"Tell me about it." She murmured.
"Watch it." I said pointing a finger at her, "I'll kick you out of my house too." She put her hands up in surrender.
"Just try to work on it alright, if they make our kids happy, so be it." I sighed and nodded. We got up and she opened the door for me. We walked out to see Spencer and Katie at the table eating their snack.
"Hi guys, what did you make?" I asked trying to sound happy. Just as Katie was about to answer, the for swung open.
"Moms!" Shannon called. She came walking through the door clinging to the arm of a tall boy with dark black hair. He wore ripped jeans, a white shirt, and a red flannel shirt.
"Moms, this is Matt." She gestured to him.
"Oh I'm so sorry, excuse me dear." I said to Katie who just smiled at me. Tobin stood by the table.
"So this is the boyfriend?" I asked. For some reason I never had a problem with Shan's boyfriends. They both nodded.
"Well I'm Alex, so nice to meet you hon." I shook Matt's hand and he smiled. I saw Tobin say something to Spencer who smirked and she walked towards us.
"Oh hey Mrs. Heath." Matt said putting his hand out. Tobin took it in hers, but locked him in a death grip, causing him to groan in pain and drop the right half of his body.
"Tobs." I said hitting her in the arm.
"So, how did this come about?" She asked.
"Well, I was helping out in the principles office, and Matt was called in for, something." She stuttered, "and we got to talking and he asked me out." She giggled. Matt smiled and leaned in giving her a long kiss.
"So Matt," Tobin said grabbing his shoulder and spinning him around rather violently to stop their kiss.
"What were you called in for?" She asked.
"It was nothing really, I was putting my art up on the wall, like other kids do, and the principle said that since it wasn't 'registered' it had to come down."
"So Matt what are your grades like?" I asked.
"All B's one A." He said proudly.
"Might wanna switch those." Tobin said. He and Shan fidgeted uncomfortably.
"Well Mrs. Heath, Shannon here has been helping me out, so by the end of the marking period, I think j will switch those." He said.
"Tobs can I talk to you?" I said. She nodded and followed me, but her eyes never stopped glaring at Matt.
"Oh how the tables have turned." I smirked.
"What?" She asked.
"You can't stand any of Shan's boyfriends." I laughed.
"That's my little princess." She stood up.
"I know, I know Tobs, and those are my baby boys. I think we're both just protective of them in different ways. See the boys go to you for fun and comfort and when it comes to dating, I can't let another girl touch them." I laughed, "and it's like that for you with Shan."
"The boys can take care of themselves, but I swear if someone touches my little girl-" I cut her off.
"And that's how I feel with the boys. I don't want some girl playing them." I said. Tobin grumbled.
"But out of all the guys in the school, she picks him?" She asked.
"Tobin, Matt is you." I said.
"Is not." She mumbled.
"Tobin, you have that exact outfit." I laughed.
"The only difference is he's getting better grade than you were in high school."
"Ok I think we both know high school was not my best time." She said.
"Just try to work on it, if he makes our kid happy, then so be it." I said mimicking her words. She rolled her eyes but I ruffled her hair and kissed the top of her head. She stood back up and followed me out.
