Tobin POV

"Tobin we haven't even been married for a week and I already want to kill you, will you hurry up!" Alex called to me.
"Alex we'll be fine, the flight doesn't leave for two more hours, and the airport is twenty minutes away!" I yelled downstairs. We were getting ready to leave for our honeymoon, the typical Paris honeymoon, but I went there on tour once, and couldn't wait to share it with Alex.
"I don't care, if we don't get there at least an hour early," she started.
"Then you never know what could happened, and we could miss our flight and the trip could be ruined." I mocked along in a voice with her as she called up to me.
"And I can feel you mocking me." She said. I laughed a bit and finished packing. I brought my bag down and put it by the door. I heard Alex let out a sigh of relief from the top of the stairs.
"Happy?" I asked walking up. She nodded and gave me a light kiss.
"I'd just like this to go well." She said.
"Lex I've flown to hundreds of cities, airports aren't hard." I said walking back downstairs.
"Well think about when we have kids." She said.
"Who said we were bringing our kids anywhere?" I joked.
"Well what if our kids are like some art prodigies and we have to take them all over the world?" She asked.
"If our kids are art prodigies then they can figure out an airport." I said back.
We lounged around for a while until Alex made us leave. We got to the airport, through security, and near our gate with half an hour left. I could see Alex getting nervous. Flying always made her anxious, and it got worse and worse the closer to the flight we got. She was bouncing her knee until I put a hand on it to stop her.
"Hey, we're fine. We'll be fine." I said. She nodded to me.
"I'm gunna get you some water, ok?" I asked. She nodded and I got up. I gave her a kiss on the forehead and went to find some water. I got a bottle from a vending machine and was on my way back when I saw the board with the flights in it. One that was blinking caught my attention.
Flight 957 to Paris, France
Delayed
Take off at 12:37
Our flight was delayed two hours. It wasn't the end of the world, but Alex wouldn't be happy.
"Hey, bad news." I said sitting down.
"What?" She asked with a groan.
"Two hour delay." I said. She let out a sigh.
"It's alright, we can kill some time here." I smiled and shrugged.
"But airports are sooooo boring." She said.
"Please, with you, anything could be fun." I smiled.
We got some food and talked for a while. About the honeymoon, about the future, about the past. It's was nice. In the middle of the wedding craziness, we hadn't had a lot of time to just sit and talk. And getting back to that felt so good. Then an announcement came over the loud speaker.
"Attention Spirit Airlines customers. Flight 957 to Paris, France has been cancelled. Please see the front desk with further questions."
Alex picked her head up from my shoulder.
"What did she just say?" She asked, anger present in her voice. I started picking up our bags.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Lex we gotta get down and rebook now. It's first come first serve, we could end up without a flight." I said. I got out stuff and started sprinting down the stairs, Alex not too far behind. While many people took the escalator, I Jules down the stairs. I ran around baggage claim to an already long line. I let out a sigh and dropped our bags.
"This is insane!" Alex yelled when she came around. People around us agreed, no one was happy. Everyone was complaining to each other and to attendants coming around. Alex was on her phone trying to find another flight. There were some later tonight, but in airports miles from here. After a long time, which only angered her more. We finally got up to the desk.
"Hi how can I help you?" The woman asked. Alex ran a hand through her hair.
"Hi. We're scheduled to be on flight 957 to Paris for our honeymoon, but obviously that's not gunna happen now. So please tell me what you can do to fix that." She said with some attitude.
"Ok, our next flight to Paris is tonight, but we only have one seat."
"Are you kidding? We need to be on a flight to Paris TODAY. We have things scheduled, places to be, a hotel and rental car already booked, this is the most inconvenient thing ever!" She said.
"Ma'am I'm really sorry, if there's another flight I can put you on I'd be glad to." She said. Alex turned to be.
"We can fly into Nice at 10 tonight, and then drive to Paris." I said pointing at the board.
"But then we have to cancel the car, book one there, and make a two hour drive to Paris." She said.
"Lex I don't know what to tell you, I mean you wanna get there today right?" She nodded and turned.
"Put us on the flight to Nice." She said. When we got our confirmation, Alex went across the street to the car rental company to try and get a car. I lugged out bags over to a sitting area. Only about ten minutes had passed when I got a call. I saw it was Alex and picked it up.
"Hey" I said.
"Tobin," she was obviously crying.
"They said that they can't guarantee us a car in Nice, which means we'd be stranded there, and I already cancelled the one in Paris, and now we..." she trailed off as her breathing got heavier.
"Hey, hey, babe calm down it's fine, we're gunna be fine." She started to answer and I looked up at the boards. Flights were taking off and and touching down as we spoke. Then one caught my eye.
Flight 318 to Lyon
Take off at 7:34 pm
Lands 4:49 am
That was an hour and a half before our flight, and it would be a shorter drive when we landed. I ran up to the counter to try and rebook tickets.
"And now I just really want some Girl Scout cookies!" Alex said still crying. Not too sure what I missed when I zoned out there.
"Hey, Lex can you try and book a car in Lyon?" I asked.
"It's an earlier flight and a shorter drive when we land." I said.
"Ok, I call and see." She said. She hung up as I waited in line for tickets.
"Oh, hi." The woman said when she saw me. She remembered me from before.
"Yeah, um, please excuse my wife. She can get a little crazy. It's our honeymoon and she just loves when everything goes right, and who can blame her?" I said.
"Anyway, you rebooked us on a flight to Nice, but I need to know if there's anyway you can change it to Lyon?" I asked. She typed in her computer for what seemed like ages.
"That can be arranged." She said.
"Really, thank you so so much." I said. I took the tickets from her hands. I saw Alex walking back into the airport.
"Hey," I said kissing her, "we got tickets to Lyon, in eight hours." I said. She let out a little sigh.
"And you were worried we'd miss our flight?" I said with a laugh. She smiled and jokingly pushed me away. She leaned down to get her bags and took my arm.
"Cmon knucklehead, let's go kill eight hours."
