Alex POV

It was February 3rd. We left in four days. But today, we were doing something else. I got in the car and took Tobin's hand.
"Ready?" She asked. I nodded. She started the car and began the drive. I fell asleep for a while, but woke up in time to see the signs saying that Newark was just half a mile away. We pulled up to a park and got out. I started to walk when Tobin stopped me.
"Hey, it's gunna be fine. And I'll be right there." She put a hand under my chin.
"Thank you." I said hugging her. She took my hand and we walked down a concrete trail. Then I saw him. Sitting at a picnic table with his back turned to us. I froze in place. Tobin stopped herself when she felt me stop.
"I can't do it. I can't do it Tobin. I just-"
"Hey. You can. I'll be right there the whole time. You can do this." I nodded to her after taking in a shaky breath. We walked to the bench and I sat down, Tobin right after me. He looked up. He didn't look like my dad. His beard was scruffy and patchy. His eyes were sunk into his head. His mouth hung open and deeper wrinkles formed by his eyes. He looked like he handy stepped in days. He looked between the two of us.
"Alex." He said. I just looked at him. He coughed and said, "So, when did this happen?" He pointed to the two of us. I knew this would get Tobin mad. I put a hand on her knee to calm her down.
"That's not what we're here to talk about." I said. He lightly nodded his head.
"I need your help Alexandra." He said.
"Dad, why would you do that?" I asked. I felt Tobin take my hand.
"I wasn't thinking, I was stupid." He said. I saw Tobin nod a bit.
"Dad, there's not a whole lot I can do. We can give you something to get started but, other than that..." I trailed off.
"Baby," he said, "I'm your dad."
I shook my head, "No, my dad isn't the guy who hides guns. Especially when he knows how uncomfortable it'd make me." He stayed silent.
"Dad the best we can do is 1000 dollars." I said. I slid the check across the table as I felt Tobin's hand in my shoulder.
"Fine." He grumbled standing up and grabbing the check, crumpling it in the process.
"You'll regret this." He said before walking away. I sat still for a second before feeling Tobin tighten her grip on my. I rested my head on her shoulder. We sat there for maybe 30 minutes.
"I wanna go home." I whispered to her.
"Then let's go." We got up and walked to the car. We got in and Tobin took my hand. She drove us home. I got out of the car and walked to her side. I took her hand and led her though the door and to the couch. She sat down and I sat in her lap and out my arms around her neck. I told her to lay down. We fell asleep like that in a matter of seconds.
"Hey Lex, we gotta go!" Tobin called from the living room. We left for tour that day. I was finishing up getting dressed. I met her at the door and she took my suitcase and carried it to the car.
"You ready?" She asked with a smile.
"I'm ready." I returned it.
"Well then, let's go to New York!" She said. I laughed as she turned up the radio, put in sunglasses and rolled down the window.
"Tobin, it's the middle of winter." I said.
"Hey, it's always summer in the inside, baby." She gave me a deep smile and I just laughed at her. We talked the whole way there and didn't stop when we got there.
"Hey guys!" I said when we saw Kelley, JJ, and Ash.
"Hey there love birds." JJ joked as I hugged Tobin from the side.
"So up first, we have Madison Square Garden tonight." Kelley said. Tobin nodded to her.
"Well for now, Alex and I are gunna walk around a bit, so, I'll see you losers later." She said as she turned around with me.
"You're so mean." I giggled to her. We got stopped a few times by people wanting pictures with Tobin, even though she was barely recognizable with her hat and many jackets. We walked around Central Park for about an hour and a half. We sat on benches and talked about everything from now to twenty years from now. It was refreshing to hear that we had a future together. We walked back to the hotel and up to our room.
"I'll go get ice." Tobin said grabbing the bucket. I smiled at her and she left. She took about five minutes until I heard her humming as she neared the door. I smiled to myself.
"Hey Tobs." I heard Kelley say.
"Hey Kel."
"So, whatcha thinking?" Kelley said.
"I don't know yet, about any of it."
"Tonight?" She said.
"No no, not tonight." Tobin said. I was curious as to what they were talking about. I walked up to the door to hear clearer.
"Cmon Tobin, I really wanna go." Kelley whined.
"I know you do Kel, and we will, I promise." This sounded kinda weird.
"We just can't have Alex find out." Kelley said just above a whisper.
"Well duh." Tobin laughed. "If she finds out, watch your back." They both laughed.
"It'll happen, trust me." She said, was I being paranoid?
"I don't think we should go public yet either." Excuse me? Go public? What do Tobin and Kelley have to go public about.
"I agree, when the time is right, I'll break it to Alex, and then we'll go from there." Tobin said.
"Sounds like a plan." Kelley said. I looked through the peephole to see them in a hug. They pulled back and Kelley started to walk away. I sprinted back to the bed before Tobin could catch me. She opened the door with a smile.
"Hey babe." She said. She walked over and kissed my cheek.
"So, what's you do while I was gone?" She asked sitting next to me and putting an arm around my shoulders.
"Just watched tv." I responded.
"Find anything interesting?"
"Oh yeah." I nodded, "Really interesting."
