Tobin POV

"Tobin come here the test is done!" Alex called from the bathroom. I dropped my phone and ran to meet here there.
"Ready?" She asked. She pulled the pregnancy test from the cup, but covered the results with her hand.
"This could be it." She said. I smiled and she leaned in to kiss me. She took a deep breath and moved her hands. Her face fell when she saw it was negative. She dropped it in the trash and sat on the toilet with a sigh.
"I can't believe it. That's like the third one we've take." She said putting her hands up in exaggeration. I squatted down in front of her and took her hands. I put a hand under her chin to make her look at me.
"This doesn't mean it's over. The doctor said it could be up to four or five days before the tests show results." I said as I brought her hand up to place a kiss on it. She let a small smile loose.
"I know, but it's the third day, what if it doesn't work? Sperm doses are a lot of money Tobs." She said.
"And all the money in the world is worth it." I said.
"You know what I mean." She said.
"Ok let's think about the worst case scenario." I said as I sat down in the bathroom floor and pulled her with me. I leaned my back against the counter while she leaned into me.
"Let's say we try ten times and none work. We spend all our money on sperm." I said. At this, she laughed.
"I'll sell a guitar or something, but honestly I don't think we need to worry about money Lex." I laughed.
"Yeah, but this morning, I felt sick and I just thought, maybe this is it, maybe it's happening." She said. I frowned. Hearing how happy she was, only to find out it wasn't happening made me extremely sad for her, and for us.
"I know." I whispered and kissed her temple. We sighed together and sat there staring at the bathroom wall and I rocked us gently from side to side. A few minutes later, she got up and pulled my by the hands with her. We walked down the hallway to the room we had for the baby. It was no where near ready. The only progress we made was clearing furniture out. Other than that, it was wood floors, white walls, and two large windows. I walked up to the windows to look outside. Just a street, a boardwalk, and then the beach stretched for miles. It was beautiful. Dimly lit by the street lamps, revealing people every so often. I felt Alex join me a second later. She rested her head on my shoulder. No words were spoken, they didn't need to be. As time went by, we ended up on the bench connected to the windowsill. I had picked up a guitar that sat there from when we were here earlier in the week. I was just finger picking, filling the room with some soothing music, perfectly matching our moods as we stared out the window.
"I like that one." Alex whispered as I finished a run. It was evident she was still so torn up inside. In an attempt to try and make her feel a bit better, I kept the melody she liked going. I started to sing, causing her head to turn and look at me.

Sweet creature
Had another talk about where it's going wrong
But we're still young
We don't know where we're going but we know where we belong

I turned to look out the window, as did she

And ohhhh, we started
Two hearts in one home
It's hard when we argue
We're both stubborn, I know

I turned back to look at her looking at the beach

But oh
Sweet creature, sweet creature
Wherever I go, you bring me home
Sweet creature, sweet creature
When I run out of road, you bring me home

She turned to me and started to sway

Sweet creature
Running through the garden, oh, where nothing bothered us
But we're still young
I always think about you and how we don't speak enough

And ohhhh, we started
Two hearts in one home
I know it's hard, we argue
We're both stubborn, I know

I let out a soft, almost apologetic smile

But oh
Sweet creature, sweet creature
Wherever I go, you bring me home
Sweet creature, sweet creature
When I run out of road, you bring me home

Ohhhhhhhh aoohhhhhhh, oooohhhhh

I let out the three loud "ohs" accidentally making weird faces when I did it. Alex always said I had a habit of doing it when I really got lost in a song. This was one of those times.

And ohhh, when we started
Just two hearts in one home
It gets harder when we argue
We're both stubborn, I know

But oh
Sweet creature, sweet creature
Wherever I go, you bring me home
Sweet creature, sweet creature
When I run out of road, you bring me home

I attempted the most charming smile I could

You bring me home

We shared a smile. A thousand different words being spoken, yet not one leaving our mouths. I put the guitar down and turned, leaning my back against the wall of the windowsill. She leaned back into me and looked up. I wrapped my arms around her midsection. She kissed my jaw before snuggling into me. It wasn't long before she'd drifted off to sleep. I looked down once more to see a few cars, creeping along the street ever so slowly. The lamps still providing a small patch of light. It felt like we were the only two people on earth. It was beautiful. Complete bliss. Everything stopped for a moment, the quiet wasn't eerie, but comfortable. Not awkward, but safe. It wasn't long before she'd drifted off to sleep. I wasn't far behind her.
