Alex POV

"Alex?" I heard a voice from behind me.
"Donor 8294?" I joked. The man in front of me smiled and nodded.
"Well my friends call me Craig." He laughed and put his hand out I stood up to shake it.
"So nice to meet you." I said, "I'm sorry my wife's running a little late, she'll be here any minute." He dismissed it immediately, saying it wasn't a big deal. We sat down and talked about the child. About how I would carry it, about Craig's girlfriend, and our lives in general.
"Hey babe." I heard Tobin behind me. She apologized for being late and I moved into the booth to give her space. I looked over at Craig who was looking at Tobin wide eyed. He stumbled over his words when he attempted to tell her. She laughed and they had their own small talk for a while. Eventually they got to the point where the conversation was quite redundant, so I had to step in to bring back the reason we were here. I got the papers out of my bag and slid them across the table to Craig as Tobin explained the contract further. He looked at us hastily.
"Look uh, I was totally fine with this before, but now that I know Tobin Heath is one of the moms, do you think maybe I could, stay in contact with the kid?" He said. We looked at him dumbfounded.
"But, the point of this is for it to be our child." I said. We went back and forth for a while. I can't even describe how angry and sad I was. I didn't understand. It felt like he was single handily ripping my heart out. Our hopes of having children seemed so far away. I blanked out for a while, not able to comprehend it. Tobin argues with him while I just sat there. Eventually I saw him get up, and that's when it hit me. It was over. I couldn't hold back the tears as I watched him walk away. Tobin tried to comfort me but there was nothing she could say. I was zoned out again, her voice just sounded like background noise. And then I felt her leave. I turned my head to look at her out the window. I saw her catch up with Craig and grab his arm to turn him around. In that moment I prayed this wouldn't get too physical. I didn't see them but there had to be paparazzi around, and Tobin punching a guy would not be a good front page article for us. I couldn't had them, but saw them gesturing a lot. It didn't seem to be going well. Craig kept shaking his head, and I could tell by the way Tobin's shoulders rose and fell that she kept sighing. Then I saw something different. She bowed her head and put her hands in we pockets, something she only did when she was apologizing or confessing. I had no idea what she was saying, but damn was I curious. She finished and I saw Craig just look at her. He seemed to say one word and go back to his car. It didn't work. All the charm in the world, and he still said no. I saw Tobin turn and walk back inside. She nodded to the hostess and took a seat in front of me. I was near crying. She took my hand across the table and ran her thumb over the back of my hand. She wouldn't meet my eyes. I looked up to see Craig entering the restaurant.
"Tobin." I said in a shaky voice as I pointed to him. She turned around to give me a mischievous smile.
"So," she started, "you still want that baby?"
