Alex POV

There was a knock on the door and I saw Tobin tense. I put a hand on her back to calm her down.
"It's gunna be fine, and I'm here." I said. She nodded and got up to answer the door. She took a deep breath before opening it to reveal a tall man with shortish brown hair, and a big goofy smile, just like Tobin's.
"Hi, I'm Jeff." He said. I couldn't believe it. He looked like Tobin. He dressed like Tobin. He sounded like Tobin, laughed like her, it was unbelievable.
"Come in." Tobin said. We walked up the stairs and into the living room. The three of us sat down in silence for a second before he broke it.
"Listen, I get how uncomfortable this is, and I wanna start with this. Obviously I didn't know you or any of our history, but I really would like to apologize for our- or my- or our mother. I don't understand why she couldn't be there for you, and that's I side of her, I never knew. It's brought her into a new light, and though she's still my mother, I'm so sorry she couldn't be yours. You deserved a mother, and I'm sorry she wasn't it." We were taken aback. I saw Tobin breath in and lean forward.
"Um, thank you, really. But don't look at her differently. Your mother, and the woman who birthed me are two totally different people. Your mother is...whoever she is to you. I just never had one." She finished.
"So how come she never told us about each other?" He asked.
"Well she only found me about five years ago, and as for you, how old are you?" She asked.
"I'm 22." He said. Tobin shrugged. A silence fell again.
"So jeff do you want to tell us about your childhood?"
"Sure, uh I was born in New York, and we lived upstate my whole life. I went a private middle school and then public high school. And now I'm at NYU, kinda following in mom's footsteps and going into music technology and production. And by the way, my friends and I grew up listening to your music and I'm trying so hard not to freak out right now." He said. We all laughed and Tobin looked at him.
"You know, we're kinda working with a temporary manager right now, and we've been looking for one, would you maybe be interested?" She asked. His eyes were as wide as saucers.
"Are you serious?" He asked. Tobin nodded.
"Um yeah, yes, ok, let's talk numbers." He said standing up. She looked to me and smiled.
"That's not how we decide a manager." She said. He gave her a confused look.
"Anyone can process numbers and give you 'most probable outcomes' there needs to be chemistry." She said. He nodded.
"Which means, you've gotta be able to work with me, and the rest of the girls. So in order to figure that out, we usually see if we can jam a bit." She said. His mouth hung open.
"You play?" She asked. Jeff nodded.
"Yeah, guitar and piano." He said.
"Alright, I'll call the band, they should be over in a few." As we waited for the band you could see Jeff tense up. When they burst through the door he practically jumped out of his seat.
"Ayeee, is this the baby bro?" Ash asked and stared at him.
"No Ash, he's a stray we picked up." I said, she laughed.
"Ahh, funny as ever Morgan." She said slinging an arm around my neck.
"Ah ah ah, can't call me that anymore." I said with a smile.
"Oh that's right," she said, "well I can't call you Heath, because she's Heath," she pointed to Tobin who put her hands up and smiled, "and, oh no, is this one a Heath too?" She asked.
"No no he's Watkins." Tobin said.
"Ahh I see I see." She said crossing her arms.
"So are we doing this or what?" JJ said.
"Yup, let's get to it." Kelley said.
"Alright Jeff, pick your poison." Tobin said, gesturing to a guitar and piano.
"I'll take the guitar." He said. The band let out a string of 'oohs'.
"Going for my spot are ya kid?" Tobin joked.
"No, no- I-" he stuttered.
"Relax." She laughed, "it's a joke." He gave her a relieved smile.
"So how does this start?" He asked.
"With you. Play whatever you want, then we'll build, if all goes well, there's chemistry." Kelley said. He nodded and they looked at him expectantly. He took a deep breath. He started strumming and I instantly saw the gears in Tobin's mind start to turn. She started to bob her head and I saw all of their faces when they knew everything clicked.

Wrapped around your finger
I'd spent my whole life
Trying ways to have you
And everything was alright
Almost but not quite
I'd be tangled up without you
Oh, what a mess
Like a nightmare and an empty bed
With you, it's like I'm coming home again

Tobin showed this big, truly happy smile.

Baby, you're hands down the best thing
About me
And, Baby, I don't where I was
But I'm so glad you found me

Wrapped inside your sheets
Will I look after you?
Because you look after me
And kiss me till I bleed
I don't want anything
But all of you
I know I swore I said
I'll never love again
But, man oh man, you're my best friend

She sent a sly wink my way

Baby, you're hands down the best thing
About me
And, baby, I don't where I was
But I'm so glad you found me

Baby, you know I love you
More than my words
Know how to show you

Baby, you know I love you
More than my words
Know how to show you

Baby, you know I love you
More than my words
Know how to show you

Baby, you know I love you
More than my words
Know how to show you

She smiled at me. It was sincere, and meaningful, as if she was trying to hug me with a smile.

Baby, you know I love you
More than my words
Know how to show you

When they finished the band started yelling and laughing, Jeff stood there kind of stunned.
"Wow. That- that was amazing! I just played, did I really just play with you guys?" He asked. They all laughed and nodded.
"Uh, say Jeff I think it's pretty clear, if you want the job as manager, you've got it." Tobin said. He looked at all of them with a huge smile.
"Oh yeah yes absolutely thank you so much." He shook all their hands, and then mine, causing us all to laugh.
"So jeff if you wanna stay for dinner we'd love to have you." Tobin said. He smiled and nodded.
"Hey, don't we get a dinner invite?" Ash asked.
"You guys eat here almost every night." She said. The three of them looked at Tobin with Lilly dog eyes.
"Ugh, fine fine fine." She said. They perked up and went to get plates out.
"Oh Jeff, there's one more thing we thought you might want to know." I said. Tobin turned to me, realizing what I was saying and came to stand by me.
"We are trying to have a baby. And if you'd like, we'd love for him or her, to have an uncle. Do you think you'd be open to that?" I asked.
"Oh oh my god yeah, of course. Man life's crazy. One day you're sitting in your dorm, the next you find out you're related to Tobin Heath, becoming her manager, and the uncle of her child." He said all in one breath.
"Yeah, it's been pretty wild to say the least." I laughed.
"Yeah, but I'm loving it." He said.
"Glad to hear that," Tobin put a hand on his shoulder, "welcome to the family."
