Alex POV
Tobin told me everything. What Cindy said, more of what she did when Tobin was a child. Every word broke my heart more than the next. That night, I held her close as she cried herself to sleep.
"You don't ever have to see her again." I whispered into her ear before we fell asleep.
"I wish that were true Lex, she'll look for me. She's trying to make up for shit that she did like twelve years ago." I sighed knowing she was right and fell asleep with her.
The next morning I woke up alone. I walked out to the kitchen to find her sitting on the counter with a coffee mug in her hands.
"Hey Tobs." I said walking up to her and sitting next to her. "How ya doin?" I whispered.
"Great, never better." She flashed me a toothy smile and took a sip.
"Tobin I know what you're doing." I said.
"What?" She asked.
"You can't just push this problem away. You can't act like nothing happened." I said.
"Why not? It's worked pretty well before." She said.
"Tobin I have 13 days left with you. I want them to be perfect." I said.
"Well then let's forget about this for 13 days, then I solve it when you go back to California."
"I don't wanna go back to where I can't help you." I said.
"You going back would make you happy, which makes me happy, which helps me." She had a point.
"Don't worry." She said. She put an arm around me and kissed my forehead.
"Ok" I said softly, but reluctantly. We sat like that for a few minutes, just being in each other's arms.
"I'm gunna miss you." Tobin broke the silence.
I hugged her tighter, "Hey, I'm never gone, you always have me with you. I'm yours." I whispered to her.
"But...but what if you're not?" She whispered, it was as if she was afraid that if she said it too loud it'd come true.
"I am, as long as you're mine." I lifted her head and gave her a long soft kiss. She pulled back and rested her forehead on mine.
"I can't have it any other way." She said. Trying to lighten the mood, I perked up.
"How much do you love me Tobin Heath?" I mockingly out my hand in my chin like I was thinking.
"Alex Morgan I love you as high as the stars, as deep as the ocean, and to the moon and back." She had the same tone of voice as me and she flashed me a knowing grin.
"Oh really, Ms. Heath?" I asked.
"Really Ms. Morgan." She smiled at me as she brought her knees to her fest as we sat opposite each other on the counter.
"Show me." I whispered and smiled at her. She hopped off the counter and got her guitar. She lied down and out her head in my lap.
"Make up something, right now." I said.
"Right now?"
"Right now." She thought for a moment before beginning to strum.I know a place where I can go when I'm alone
Into your arms, whoa, into your arms I can go
I know a place that's safe and warm from the crowd
Into your arms, whoa, into your arms I can goAnd if I should fall
I know I won't be alone
Be alone anymoreI know a place where I can go when I'm alone
Into your arms, whoa, into your arms I can go
I know a place that's safe and warm from the crowd
Into your arms, whoa, into your arms I can goSo if I should fall
I know I won't be alone
Be alone anymoreI know a place where I can go when I'm alone

"You're never alone with me." I said as I leaned down to kiss her forehead.AN
