Lauren's POV
I noticed that whenever we tried to feed Tyler, he'd either immediately reject the food, or accept it and throw it up a bit later. I had a large family and had experienced many picky eaters in my time, but I knew that this was more than just a fussy baby not wanting to eat certain foods, I had a very good feeling that it was something more, probably a medical issue causing it. It wouldn't surprise me being all the other setbacks and issues he had due to being premature. I made a doctors appointment for the following week.
Time Skip 1 week
Lauren's POV
The morning of the appointment I woke up exceptionally early, much earlier than usual so I could be ready for the doctor since the only slot available for the next few weeks was today at 9:45 am. I knew I couldn't let Tyler go on like this for the next few weeks because all he would eat was applesauce and breastmilk and that's not a healthy diet for any baby, let alone a baby with many medical setbacks. When the nurse called Tyler's name, we went to the back examination room and she took his vitals, like weight, height, temperature, etc, before leaving us alone and waiting for the doctor to come in. The only doctor available ended up being the doctor that wasn't our usual. Her name was Dr. Deaton. She examined Tyler and once she finished, she and a nurse practitioner gave Tyler a shot to take a sample of his blood to test. She said the results would be given to a special doctor, a pediatric dietitian to be specific. She explained that he would test the sample, find a diagnosis, and diagnose and treat Tyler for whatever was going on. She said to continue his diet until the following week when we'd be called to this new doctor's office.
