Time Skip like 6 months
Cathy's POV
The past 6 months had been crazy. Once the adoption was officially finalized, Alex and I used all of our money from work and from the college fund that we never ended up using and bought a bigger apartment, because a studio with one bed and a couch wouldn't fit 5 people. We moved into a very small 3 bedroom loft, but one bedroom was only a half, so we used it as Stephanie's nursery. The boys shared a room, and Alex and I shared a room. The apartment was closer to my family, so the kids could see them more. Alex still hadn't spoken to her family since they kicked her out, around 9 or 10 years ago at this point. That all changed a few weeks later...

I was feeding Stephanie and putting the TV on for the boys when the doorbell rang. Alex was at work, so I was alone with the kids. I went to the door, and opened it. I was shocked to see who stood behind that door....
