Ch. 98

(A/N: this chapter takes place the day of school aka the day after last chapter and also I found out the other day I'm meeting one of my fave bands at their concert and y'all know I love a good boyband, so Im feeling extra generous today so more updates hahah)

Time Skip to the following day

Cathy's POV

Alex and I both woke up at around 6:00 A.M to ensure that the both us and the boys would be ready for their first day of school at 8:00 for Gaten, and 9:00 for Preston. Alex and I went downstairs to get some preparation out of the way before the kids woke up and we had to shift our attention to them. We made sure their lunches were together and kept them in the fridge until the last minute possible when they had to leave for school. I laid out Preston's outfit for the day and Alex did the same to Gaten's. Then, she and I made sure their backpacks had everything needed for their first day. Alex looked at the clock once we finished. "Babe, it's 7:00! We gotta get them up!" I looked at the clock for confirmation, and sure enough, the clock read 7:00 A.M. We ran upstairs to get the boys, and in our haste, we didn't realize how loud we were being, and we accidentally woke Stephanie up. She began to wail, and we could hear her loud and clear through the monitor. "Mama! Mommy!" She yelled for us. I walked into her nursery to comfort her as Alex went to get the boys up for school. "Hi baby," I said as I walked into the room. She was crying and standing up in her crib. Once she saw me, she put her arms up and made grabby hands at me, in a silent request to be held. I picked her up and she immediately wrapped her legs around my waist, wrapped her little arms around my neck loosely, and rested her head on my shoulder. I rocked her back and forth, singing to her softly, and after about 10 minutes she fell asleep. I gently placed her pacifier in her mouth, and laid her back down in her crib. I slowly made my way out of the room so not to wake her, and made my way to the boys' room. We got them ready and made our way to the bus stop. I could tell they were nervous but they got onto the bus and drove off to school very well, and I was very proud of my sons. Alex held me in her arms as I held Stephanie and the three of us watched the bus drive off down the road, on its way to school. Alex smiled and kissed my cheek, then Stephanie's cheek. "Well, looks like it's just me and my girls now," she said and I smiled.
