Time Skip one hour

Cathy's POV

Alex and I sat there for about an hour listening to the social worker, dumbfounded. We couldn't believe that Alex's parents would stoop so low. I decided I wasn't gonna let it slide. I immediately got up and got my jacket on. I grabbed my purse, put on my shoes and made my way to the door. "Babe, where are you going?!" Alex asked. "Stay here with the social worker I'm gonna go see your parents. And I'll be back soon. Love you." I said angrily as I stormed out to the car. I drove to Alex's old house, where her parents still lived. I sat in the car for an extra minute, because I knew if I immediately went to the door, I'd do something I would later regret and would cause the kids to be out of our care longer, or not be able to come back into it. After I composed myself enough, I got out of the car, walked to the front door and knocked on it loud and hard. Alex's mother answered a minute later. "Hey, Cathy," she said. "What the fuck kind of right do you have to my fucking children?!" I yelled marching into her house. "I have every right that you have." She said calmly. "Have you gone mad, woman?! You have zero rights to my children, they aren't biologically related to you or emotionally related to you, they don't even fucking know you, you bitch!" I screamed. We went back and forth, back and forth for a while. I got sick of it pretty soon, and eventually I just walked out, yelling that I'd be seeing her in court as I left.
