Alex's POV
Cathy and I were supposed to go to dinner at Vitto's with my aunt and uncle and her family. We were in her room (her parents finally got a nice house) and we were talking about attending colleges together. We decided to move in together into a dorm. Later on, I went home to wait until we had to go to dinner. I put on my coat and put the small black box inside my coat pocket. Wow, I hope this works out...
Time Skip 3 hours
Alex's POV
During dinner, we ate and talked like one big happy family and it really was fun. Before dessert came, I reached over the table and held Cathy's hand. "Cathy, we need to talk." She looked concerned. "Okay..." She said hesitantly. "Caterina, we've been together for 8 years, we're about to move in together. I think it's about time we take things one step further. I've loved you since I can remember. Throughout all the terrible shit that's happened to me, the car accident, my grandfather dying, my parents abandoning me, you've been there through all of it. And you've made it better. I'm never as happy as when I'm with you. You know if I could I'd be even more depressed and suicidal than I am just so you would never feel that way, and I'd literally die for you to make sure you're happy. That's how much I love you. So, Cathy, will you make me the happiest woman on earth and do me the honor of becoming my wife?" I asked, opening up the small black box to reveal a 20 karat diamond ring. She smiled and began to cry tears of joy. "Yes, of course!!!" She said. I put the ring on her finger and kissed her. Finally, we can be happy and married!
