Cathy's POV
We were sitting down when we heard the door open. The bailiff stood at attention. "All rise for the honorable Judge Cohn." He bellowed. Everyone stood, a sign of respect toward the judge, and once he got to his podium, we were excused to sit.
Time Skip the trial (I'll explain in the A/N at the end why)
The trial went well. We had my parents and siblings testify in our defense, as well as Gaten and Preston who offered to because they, in their own words, "wanted to live with their mommies." After much deliberation and many tears being shed, the judge decided that the kids would remain in our care. I immediately fell into Alex's arms when I heard the news, sobbing with joy. "We did it, babe." She whispered. I kissed her just as the kids came into the room to sit with us. "Eww, Mommy and Mama! Stop it!" Preston said jokingly. We laughed and Alex scooped him up into our arms, as I did the same with Stephanie and held Gaten close to me. We won. I couldn't be happier.
