Cathy's POV
Alex and I talked further after my small meltdown. We discussed the entire situation at lunch where we sat with Madison and DJ who knew already and we decided to tell everyone that night. She'd go home and tell her family, I'd go home and tell my family, and the next day we'd reconvene.
Time Skip 1 hour
Cathy's POV
I got a text from Alex saying she was at home, ready to tell her family, so I decided it was go time for me too. We were having Cuban sandwiches for dinner. I sat down next to Madison. She looked at me and squeezed my hand as she whispered, "love you Cathy you can do this." I took a deep breath in and exhaled. "Mama, Dad, Dana, Tyler, Madison, there's something I need to tell you." "What's up nugget?" Mom asked. "Well, I don't really know how to say this, so I'll just come right out and say it. I'm gay." The room suddenly fell silent. After a moment, clapping and light chuckles could be heard sporadically. Eventually everyone started laughing. "What, what's so funny?" I asked. Dad smiled and said, "we know." "How do you know?!" I asked. "You're quite obvious about it nugget." Mom said. I smiled, finally, a weight was lifted off of my shoulders. I heard a ringing at the door. I went to open it and saw Alex there with a small rainbow duffel bag, sobbing. "Alex, what's going on?" I asked. "M-my parents kicked m-me o-out!" She sobbed. I quickly hugged her. What....?
