Ch. 15

It was now December 11th, the day of Ty's court appearance. We were currently in a back room, waiting to be called in. I hadn't spoken to my dad since I found out he spoke to the cops. I was nervous because I was going to have to see him today. As we were running through what Ty had to say, a large bald man dressed in all black clothes and black sunglasses walked over to us and escorted us to the room where the hearing would take place. "The hearing of Jauregui vs Griffin is now taking place. Michael Jauregui, a 49 year old man from Miami, Florida is suing Tyrone Griffin, a 33 year old (A/N: Happy Birthday Tyyyyy! HAVE A FUCKING LIT DAY!) for the illegal use of marijuana and claims that Griffin persuaded his daughter into smoking as well. Griffin denies these claims and is countersuing for slander and defamation of character. He is demanding an apology and a price of $1600 dollars which is how much money he lost out on whilst taking off of work to settle this endeavor. Now entering the courtroom is the honorable Judge Cowell." Ty and my father entered the courtroom. I stood with Ty and our lawyer at the Defense Stand. The judge began speaking. "The prosecution may begin." My dad's lawyer stood up and said, "Thank you your honor. We would like to call Lauren Jauregui to the stand first." As soon as I heard my name, I smirked. I was gonna milk this shit for all it was worth. I walked up to the stand next to the judges stand at sat down. Before the court began, the bailiff walked over to me and swore me in. "Please raise your right hand and repeat after me." I did and he began talking. "I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth." I repeated after him. Then, the prosecutor walked up to me. "Please, state your name for the court." "My name is Lauren Michele Jauregui." The prosecutor began to talk more. "Please state your age, occupation and relation to the defendant and the plaintiff. "Once again, my name is Lauren Jauregui, I am 21 years old, I am a senior at Florida State University, the plaintiff is my dad an the defendant is my boyfriend." "Thank you, Lauren. What are you personally here to prove?" "Personally, I am here to prove that my boyfriend, Ty, is innocent, he never forced me to smoke or do any drug or drink any alcohol, that was completely my decision and that he shouldn't get in trouble for illegal marijuana use." I said, confidently. "And why shouldn't he get in trouble, Lauren?" "He shouldn't get in trouble because he didn't do anything wrong. He smokes weed, yes, but it's only occasionally and when he did smoke it regularly it was when he lived in California before he moved to Florida." "You claim Ty didn't force you to smoke or drink anything, and it was all on your own, yes?" "Yes, because that's the truth. Sir, I never would let anyone force or pressure me into doing ANYTHING. You can ask anyone, I'm very stubborn and wouldn't ever let someone make me do anything." I reassured him. After a while in the courthouse, it eventually came time for the verdict. The jury spoke. "We find Tyrone Griffin to be not guilty and Michael Jauregui must pay out his dues." Ty and I jumped up as soon as we heard he was aquitted and I jumped into his arms and kissed him in celebration!
