Ch. 97

(A/N: this chapter is pretty much calex fluff, but I have drama that is bc of fluff coming soon involving one of the kids 😏😂)

Time Skip 2 months

Cathy's POV

The kids were starting their first day of school in a week, so much of Alex and I's free time was spent preparing them. Whether that meant purchasing items for school such as school supplies or clothes, or telling them about their year and how it would be, we did it all. Especially because this was their first year at a new school since their parents died nearly a year ago. They ended up finishing the year through computers since the two older boys (the only ones actually in school) were way too overwhelmed to deal with school, what with the death and a new family, new surroundings. It was hard. But now they were starting off a new school year and they were nervous. They'd have no friends to start out school with, and they were very upset by that fact a lone. Alex took them out shopping for clothes and books and things of that nature, while I taught the boys about the school and comforted them and instilled confidence in them. It was now the night before school started and I was making the boys' lunches while Alex was upstairs putting them to bed. She came down a minute later just as I was fixing up their sandwiches, tuna with a slice of Swiss on rye for Gaten, and ham and cheese on white for Preston. She came up behind me, wrapping her arms around my waist and moving my hair out of the way of my neck. She began placing small kisses along my neck, from the top down. I turned around in her arms and she smiled. "Well hello there, baby, how's my second favorite girl doing?" She asked, kissing me on the lips quickly. I raised an eyebrow and scoffed. "Second favorite girl?" I asked. "Well, yeah, next to Stephanie, you're my second favorite, she's my first, she's my daughter after all," Alex explained, nervously and quickly. I laughed. "Baby I know I'm just playing with you, chill." I said. She scoffed and walked away. I followed her and jumped onto her back. She grabbed me quickly to hold me up, and we both fell to the ground, laughing. As we lay next to each other, she gently moved the hair out of my face, cupped my cheek and kissed my forehead. "You look beautiful." She said. I smiled and replied, "so do you."
