Cathy's POV

The next day I came back to visit Alex as promised. She was sitting in her hospital bed, her gorgeous black hair tied into a ponytail and her glasses were on. She was reading some sort of journal, I assumed it was one of hers from the past and she may have been reading it to try to remember who she was (and still is). I knocked on the already open door to get her attention. She looked up at me. "Oh, you again. Hey." She said, looking back down at her book. I felt tears well up in my eyes at that, but I shook it off and choked out a feeble "hi" back to her. I slowly and carefully walked up to her, sat in the chair next to her bedside, and clasped her hand in mine. "Do you remember me at all yet?" I asked carefully. She shook her head. "I'm sorry, you seem nice, and I feel like if I would remember you we would've had a connection, but I can't remember. I do feel like a strong connection with you though, it's like I know you, my heart does, but my head doesn't yet, like you said. I'm sorry." She explained. "It's okay, baby, you'll get there, but please believe me when I say we're girlfriends, and we have been for 3 years, but it's gonna be 4 next month. We have a puppy child together, we call him our son, but his real name is nugget, you named him that because it's your nickname for me. My sister started the name, you liked it, and besides 'baby' that's all you call me. Except sometimes you call me Cathy or caterina but that's only ever out of anger." I explained to her. She nodded. "I thought about it a lot last night, and I believe you. You showed so much emotion when I rejected you, there's no way you'd fake that. I believe we're together, I just can't be fully invested quite yet because I can't remember anything. I'm sorry." She apologized again. "It's fine, Alex, we'll get there, together." She smiled and nodded, grabbing my hand gently and holding onto it. "Yeah, together," she said.
