Cathy's POV
The bullying had stopped for a day or so after we confronted the teacher, but it continued maybe 3 days after we had, bur this time it wasn't because of Gate being an IRL fan, but because his "moms are lesbians". When I heard that, my heart immediately broke. Yes, Alex and I were gay, but that was no one's fault, and it was especially none of any of our children's faults. I wanted to tell Alex, but I was quite afraid of her reaction. She'd either be really pissed off and make a huge scene, or it'd bring up feelings and memories of her parents abandoning her for her sexuality. She had tried suppressing those memories for years, and I just didn't know how she'd react. After a few moments of deliberation, I decided to tell her, and just see how she'd react. Alex got home from work, and we sat down to a nice dinner together, and I even made her favorite meal, lemon pepper chicken with lime flavored brown rice, with a Berry Fanta soda. I needed to do it, quick, just like ripping off a band-aid. "Alex, we need to talk," I said, hesitantly. She looked up from her plate, wide eyed, gulped, and got a bit teary eyed. "Y-You're not b-breaking up with me, are you?" she asked, her voice breaking a bit. My heart broke seeig her so sa at the thought of me ending things with her, but I was very glad that wasn't the case, and that'd she'd be quite glad too. "No, no, baby, no, absolutely not. I love you, and I will never, ever leave you." I reassured her. She smiled and told me how glad she was to hear that. "What we actually need to talk about is the situation with Gate being bullied." I said. "What about it?' she asked, as she wiped her mouth with a napkin. "It's getting worse." I answered. "Way, way worse..."
