Ch. 79

(A/N: this chapter is mainly the family dinner with Alex, next chapters a bit of calex drama, then some fluff again)

Time Skip next day end of the school day

Cathy's POV

Alex and I were going to go home on my bus after school to my house for dinner. We got into the bus and sat together, holding hands. We got back to the house and went up to my room to finish up some homework and watch some TV for a bit before dinner. Once it was time for dinner and we were called down, Alex and I walked hand in hand down the stairs.

Alex's POV

I had something special in my pocket that I wanted to give to Cathy. It was a small silver ring engraved with 'CALEX 4/13/2022 - INFINITY with heart with an infinity drawn inside it next to the lettering. The word 'Calex' was a ship name made by putting "Cathy" and "Alex" together, obviously, and the April 13th, 2022 was the day Cathy and I got together and became girlfriends, which was exactly 6 months from today, hence the ring. The '- infinity" meant "to infinity" signifying that I wanted to be with her forever. I decided to give it to her in private tonight. We sat down at the dinner table, ate and had a genuinely nice conversation.

Time Skip 2 hours

Alex's POV

Cathy and I decided to sit outside on some chairs and watch the stars while we cuddled together under a warm blanket. After a few minutes, I turned to her and said, "Cathy, baby, I have something I've go to talk to you about." She looked worried because she saw that I was worried. "What is it...?" She asked, hesitantly. "Well, as you know we've been dating for 6 months and we've been best friends for about 2 years. You truly never ever fail to make me happy and make every crappy thing in life a little less crappy. Please, take this ring as a promise ring of sorts, a symbol of our love." I said. She was crying by the end of my little speech and I put the ring on her finger. "I love you," I whispered. She looked at me, eyes wide with surprise. "N-no! I take it back! I'm not in love, I'm so stupid I'm sorry please don't hate me!" I cried. "Shh, shh, shh," she said as she hugged me. "It's okay, I love you too."
