It was later on that night, we had parked our car and decided to get Dana comfortable in the house before we went out to get stuff for her. In her little bag there was only one diaper (clean, obviously), an empty bottle, a pacifier and her stuffed animal which we took out and gave to her because she was crying for him. Ty and I were going to go back out in 2-3 hours once Dana felt comfortable enough to sleep in our hotel, especially being surrounded by Ty's family, whom she knew no one in. We could tell she was still really scared and she would only hold Ty or i's hand. She wouldn't let us hold her yet and she was silent except for a few occasional whimpers and whines. (A/N: lmao almost forgot here's what Dana looks like)

Dana, Ty and I walked up to the door of the hotel and walked inside. We made our way up to our room where Ty's family was finishing up cooking. We knew some people in his family were going to question why we had a toddler with us now, but we felt we had a truly reasonable and real reason why we took her. There was no one in sight where she was, she seemed to have cuts and bruises on her, and it was clear that she was neglected and sadly, most likely abused. Ty and I were already having twins anyway, so what makes the difference? Our twins now would just have a big sister. We got to our room and unlocked it. Ty held the door open for Dana and I, which I found absolutely adorable. As soon as we got into the hotel room, however, the chaos started. Dana was immediately noticed by all the people in the room and some were shocked and others were happy. Thankfully, not an angry or sad face there. Everyone immediately swarmed Dana after I explained why we had her, and she immediately started sobbing. She ran over to Ty and held up her arms in a silent but urgent request to be picked up and held. He was shocked at first, being that she had turned down all offers to hold her from both Ty and myself before. But he immediately complied, and as soon as she was in his arms, she put her head in his neck and started crying even harder. We eventually calmed her down. Once she relaxed a bit, and everyone started to grow on her, she became a bit more open, but only a little bit. She would smile and giggle but stayed very close to Ty and I the entire time. We were happy to at least allow her to relax and be more open around us, though.
